Side Bar column positioning settings home page
I am trying to position my side bar on the left side of my home page with a width of approximately 1/3 of the page and the right column taking up the balance filled with photo and text content below. I have inserted a 500 pixel wide MD table in the sidebar. I confused on how to set the respective column widths and float in the webpage settings. As you can tell I am a novice but making progress.

When I make my primary content more than 6 1/2 wide the left sidebar moves over on top of the main content in the right column.

it depends on how wide you've set your body-core. Yours is set at 1140px.
right now you've got the page split in half, both the main content and the sidebar are set to 6 columns in a 12 column grid. Your gutter is 12px.
If you want the sidebar to take up one-third, then assign it 4 columns. This makes it 380px wide minus the gutter. Obviously this is smaller than your 500px table. And because the table is 500px wide, that's probably the reason you're seeing the content overlapping.
You've also got a bunch of unnecessary looking html stuff in the sidebar, things like <head> tags (two sets) and <meta> tags and <body> tags.

Ok, thanks. I'll play with it and see how it works. I will also delete some of the unnecessary tags. Thanks. Does the unnecessary tag affect anything on the home page?
