Publish Error Message

I regularly encounter a problem with Publisher. The problem occured with CE3 and now with CE4 Publisher. When I click in Lightroom to publish an album or republish photos in an album, about halfway through the publishing process I get the following mesage:

Warning
Can't update this collection.
Error uploading rendition.
Unable to complete the action.
Headers: {  [error]=> {   [errorCode} =>
"badServerResponse"    [name] =. "The server returned an
invalid or unrecognized response
"    [nativeCode] => 12152

I quit LR, restart, click the publish button, and the publishing picks up where it left off, then after several more photos are published, the above error message reappears.

I repeat the process of quitting LR, restarting LR, restarting the publishing process, until all of the photos are published. It can easily take six or more attempts to publish an album of 25-30 photos.

When I originally built my website using CE3, I never had this problem. Then it just started happening. I had hoped it would go away when I built the site from scratch using CE4, but the problem has continued.

This really slows down the process of troubleshooting other issues with the CE pluggins, since it becomes a time consuming task to publish photos and check the results.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Re: Publish Error Message

one other thought, it seems that when the publishing fails and the error message appears, that after I click OK, the ability to resume republishing seems to be a matter of waiting a 60 to 90 seconds. I originally thought I needed to quick LR and restart, but I have found I can start republishing after waiting a minute or two from where Publisher left off when it was interrupted by the error message.

Re: Publish Error Message

Independently of this issue you reported, I noticed that your CE4 Gallery template name has whitespaces in it. So instead of "CE 4 Gallery" you should use something like "ce_4_gallery". No whitespaces and all lower case. I use only lower cases to avoid possible issues as Linux filenames are case sensitive.

Re: Publish Error Message

Are you with GoDaddy? If so, this is a known issue with their older servers.

Re: Publish Error Message

Yes, I use Godaddy. Do you think I can request that they put me on a newer server? I will call them and ask them.

Re: Publish Error Message

If it helps, when I switched from GoDaddy to Bluehost, GoDaddy refunded the cost for the remaining time I had paid for. In case you find you need to switch hosts.
(The switch over was quick and painless)

Re: Publish Error Message

I'm not exactly sure what it entails but having GoDaddy switch you over to the newer version of Cpanel should fix the problem. This has worked for several TTG customers.

You can find more conversations about this by searching these forums for GoDaddy.

Re: Publish Error Message

I spoke with GoDaddy and they said they will migrate my site to a new server. Hopefully this will correct the issue.

Re: Publish Error Message

Just a quick note.  I have had this issue with CE3 on GoDaddy's older servers and am in the process of moving to cPanel with CE4.  I still have the error if I try to publish more than 20 or so non-hi res photos.  As noted. waiting a minute or two and all is fine.  It is as if the server locks me out, since attempting to edit an Album or Album set also fails during this minute or so after the error.

I thought that I had located the same error in a web search that was a Windows issue with a bad connection to the net.  Since it is reproducible, it doesn't seem to be a random "bad connection."
