Hi Chiltern, this is possible with Publisher. You would setup an album set for each family, with a unique password for the album set. In the album set settings within the published album, check the 'Hide from Auto Index' checkbox.
For example, you may then have the following structure:
portraits/smith-family/gallery-one
portraits/smith-family/gallery-two
portraits/williams-family/gallery-one
portraits/williams-family/gallery-two
You would then provide the two groups with the link to the album set for their family:
portraits/smith-family
portraits/williams-family
Once logged in, they will be able to browse the galleries within the album set. Should somebody visit portraits/ then they will not see links to either of the family album sets.
Technically, users will be using the same cart instance, however they will only be able to add items from galleries they have access to. Pricing can be configured as-needed for each group.
