I have my home page set as a galleria slideshow, everything looks ok, the site is setup correctly, BE and publisher are installed. But the page comes up with an error telling me that galleria cannot find the images. see ce4.studiothomas.org. Cant figure this one out myself.

looks like Matt released a maintenance update. Check your download again for CE4 Pages v7.0.1

I tried to connect directly to your image, and it was there in the end. But actually connecting was INCREDIBLY slow. It took a really long time to resolve the address, before the image even began to load, and then took a really long time to load. My guess, the Javascript it timing out before the image is being returned.
After loading your image and now having it in my browser cache, the Galleria slideshow works on the page. Then crashes on the next image ...
So the problem is that your server is running insanely slow. I think you need better hosting.

I trashed the whole thing and started over with as basic a setup as possible out of ce4. it is still throwing file not found errors yet when i look via ftp everything is in place. ce3 runs fine. see test2.studiothomas.org I have a help request in with my host to see if they can help as well.

My host is reporting a missing scaffolding.css although there is a scaffolding.min.css. I hope you know what this means. my site is copied directly from the lightroom export, so i didn't miss uploading it. although i dont see how this would lead to file not found errors

Well they found an issue on the full-screen gallery, but the missing file doesn't actually impact anything there. On the Galleria page, that's not a problem.

And you can now download the 7.0.4a build that corrects the scaffolding link for the full-screen gallery. But again, that was never your problem. Your problem, as I already told you, is that your server is failing to load your image files before the Javascript times out.

I didnt think the scaffolding.css would be a problem. now Im trying to discover the reason for the timeout. As I said CE3 works just fine. I'll pass this onto the host. Thanks for your help.

Finally discovered the issue. I had a line in my htaccess file RewriteRule .*\.(jpg|jpeg|gif|png|bmp)$ - [F,NC]. Comment it out and everything works fine. Not sure where it came from or if it is mistyped. I know it is usually to prevent hotlinking. But everything works without it. Strange how CE3 worked just fine with it though.

Dunno. The gallery loads images in the same way as it did in CE3. Maybe because you're running on a ce4. subdomain.
