Help needed with CE4 Publisher

I installed the new TTG CE4 files and they work great!  Some nice improvements over CE3, and I'm looking forward to further additions in the near future.

However, I'm having trouble with the authentication in Lightroom Publishing Manager.    I get an error message as follows:
"An internal error has occurred: ]SON.lua:458: ]SON.lua:197: can't parse ]SON at char 1 of: Unable to write to ttg-be\data.  Set the permissions for the <strong>ttg-be\data</strong> to 755 or 777, then refresh page to continue."   I'm afraid I don't know how to do this.

By the way, I'm using the following API URL:
When I change this to the address I use for FTP access to my site, I get a message saying "incorrect API Key".

(I gave up trying to install the publisher when I was using CE3).

I checked with my server and confirmed that I am using php version 5.3.9.   I also looked at my ttg-be files, and it appears that the API key required is ttg8888, not ttg9999 as per the instructions.   However, neither seems to work for me.

I don't really understand all the ins and outs with server management, so that could be the problem.   Any suggestions as to how I can resolve this issue would be greatly appreciated.

..............Al

On setting folder write permissions:
http://ce4.theturninggate.net/docs/doku … irectories

the TTG-be password is ttg8888 and the Publisher API key is ttg9999
http://ce4.theturninggate.net/docs/doku … r_instance

Re: Help needed with CE4 Publisher

Rod, thanks for the info.   It didn't solve my problem, and now I think I have a worse problem.

I had my server change the php version to 5.3.9, and now neither my previous CE3 pages (http://www.alrobinson.com/Nature/index.php) nor the new CE4 pages (http://www.alrobinson.com/Travel_CE4/index.php) will load properly.  Please have a look, and tell me what you think has happened?

If it is a php version problem, let me know what version I need, and I'll have the server people reset it.

Thanks,
Al R

Re: Help needed with CE4 Publisher

Hi Al,  it looks like your server is configured to display Notices.  These are a type of 'error' that are output for informative reasons and usually safe to ignore. Of course, being displayed in the page itself makes them impossible to ignore.

Depending on your hosting environment, you'll need to change the error reporting setting, specifically to this value: E_ALL ^ E_NOTICE.  You'll probably need to contact your host's technical support about this.

I see that you're hosting is on a Windows server.  This could be a deal-breaker, especially for the Publisher  We don't test against or support installations on Windows servers.  It may or may not work for you and there's usually not much we can advise if you encounter problems.  If you're able to switch from Windows to Linux hosting then I recommend you do so.

Re: Help needed with CE4 Publisher

Thanks, Ben.    I'm waiting to hear from my web server on a possible move to Linux.

Just a thought - the latest problem occurred just after I had my site support upgraded to php version 5.3.9 .    And the problem exists now in the other module I had created for Nature photos.  (www.alrobinson.com/Nature/index.php).   But it runs under CE3, and I hadn't made any changes to it.   Might the transfer to php 5.3.9 possibly cause an incompatibility with TTG's software?   if so, what version of php do you recommend?

Re: Help needed with CE4 Publisher

Hi Al, we aim to be compatible with all PHP versions from 5.2 onwards.  The newer versions include features that aren't compatible with the old, however we play it safe by only coding to feature available in all of 5.2, 5,3 and 5.4.
It's more likely that the configuration of the server you're using has changed with the move to 5.3.9.  PHP is unique (but not in a good way) in that the way the language operates can change depending on the configuration of the server.

Re: Help needed with CE4 Publisher

Ben, just to keep you informed, I have requested that my web page be moved over to Linux as you suggested.  Will advise further once this has been accomplished.
