Image Return Navigation Link

On an iPhone/iPad using Touch when I am in gallery and looking at an image, the "x" navigation link on the top closes out that window. I am using the Flip, Full-screen feature for my home page. When I click the "x", it does not return to the gallery page, but to the home page. I cannot find a way to change that. I noticed Matt's site does the same thing.

On the desktop with Magnific Popup it does not do that.

Is there a way to correct that behavior and have the "x" return to the gallery page (or the previous page I guess).

Thanks.

Re: Image Return Navigation Link

I think perhaps you've got a long touch, Jack, and you're triggering the masthead link back to Home, rather than just closing the gallery.

Re: Image Return Navigation Link

Matt,

Based on your suggestion I made sure I only tapped the "x" as short amount of time as possible to activated it. About 90% of the time I see the return to the gallery page, then very quickly, almost in a flash, the masthead link must be activated. The "touch" must still be active as it then must activate the masthead link. The documentation indicates the H1 link can be a hyperlink. I cannot fine a way to disable the link.

If I can disable the masthead link, I think this should solve my problem. The problem is the same for both iPhone and iPad.

Thanks,

Jack

Re: Image Return Navigation Link

Give me a link, Jack. I'll point my iPad at it.

Re: Image Return Navigation Link

Upon further testing, I removed the Hi line and it's associated hyperlink. The "touch" effect lingers and now when the return links line up under the close of the large image it sometimes will activate that link.

Moving the position of the "x" or removing some of the delay of the "touch" might be what is needed.

I of course cannot how figure how to implement either of those.

Other suggestions?

Feels like a kludge, but try this:

Re: Image Return Navigation Link

The link you provided seems to work. At least I couldn't make it not work. What is different?

Your 'Kite Flying Robot' pictures gallery and the house sale link in the 'kevinc' post before mine both behave like mine do.

Re: Image Return Navigation Link

The link above is the only gallery I've kludged. Glad it works. This or maybe a less kludgy fix will be in the next update.

Re: Image Return Navigation Link

Fantastic. I am glad you figured it out.

It was making the gallery viewing a challenge as it requires a re-navigation down to the next gallery. It that gallery is 3 levels deep it gets frustrating.

Hopefully the update will be soon.

I will continue to do my site re-design templates in CE4. I need the Stage plugin (hopefully this week) to finish my re-design then start the migration. I have a very large set of galleries (over 50K of images) on my existing CE3 site and obviously want the CE4 stuff to be fully checked out before I migrate.

Other than this bug, CE4 rebuilds has gone well, I like everything so far. You did a great job on CE4.
