Changing the default sort order in Lightroom?

Every time I create a new collection in Lightroom, the sort order is set to Capture Time.

Is there a way to make it so that new collections will default to the User sort order?

Re: Changing the default sort order in Lightroom?

I don't think so. According to Victoria Bampton's excellent book (that every Lightroom user should own)

The default sort order when you first select a folder is Capture Time, and
you can’t change that.

I'm assuming this applies to Collections as well.

But I've found that if I'm creating a new collection and I include images from a folder or another collection that has a sort order other that Capture Time, the new collection inherits that sort order.
