CE3 Gallery Only?

I have an extensive website for our photo workshops with separate galleries I have been doing using TTG's SimpleViewer Pro such as the one found at http://www.bcphotoadventures.com/Cuba/index.html.  I like the idea of using TTG's Publisher and automatic resizing for mobile devices and bought CE3 Gallery, thinking that I could do galleries only.  I like the look that I achieved with SimpleViewer Pro.  Is this possible, or did I buy in vain?

Thanks for any help anyone can give on this.

Re: CE3 Gallery Only?

CE3 Gallery can't give you that look on the desktop. It can give you basically the same look that you have for mobile though.
You can see some example galleries here: http://ce3.theturninggate.net/galleries/01-ce3-gallery/
(I'm actually using CE3 Gallery for my own workshop pages. Here's one.

The closest you could come to what you already have would be to use TTG CE3 Stage configured for Galleria. On desktops you'd get a HTML5 slideshow with optional thumbnail below. It's a much more modern look and best of all, no more Flash!
For mobile, you can configure it to use a Photoswipe presentation, which is much like what you currently have for mobile devices.
You can also use Stage in conjunction with TTG Publisher.

Re: CE3 Gallery Only?

Thank you, Rod, for the prompt response.  And it looks as though it works with shopping carts, too.  Do I understand that correctly?

Take care,

Re: CE3 Gallery Only?

TTG Stage and Gallery work only with the TTG Cart, which is what I use for my workshop. You can't connect it to other cart systems.

Gallery can also be configured to sell prints through Fotomoto

Re: CE3 Gallery Only?

Great information, Rod, and thank you again.  I plan on only using the TTG cart.

Take care,

Re: CE3 Gallery Only?

As long as I cannot really replicate the look of the old SimpleViewer Pro galleries, I think I'll stick with the CE3.  Question:  Is there a way to change the font and size of the lipsum box and the footer separately?  In SimpleViewer, I had total control through svBuilder-Pro, a great TTL combo.

Take care,

Re: CE3 Gallery Only?

Sorry to be dumb.  I can't find that in the module.  I am used to authoring my own web and blog sites, and I have my own CSS file.  Do I do this from the index.php file, by adding <link href="css/BCPA.css" rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" />
in the Head metadata, or must I put it into one of those "resource folders"?  I did try to look this up in the Community, but I could find nothing helpful.  Sorry!

This is what I have thus far:  http://www.bcphotoadventures.com/CubaTest/index.php

Again, thanks,

Re: CE3 Gallery Only?

Do I do this from the index.php file

no. You'll implement the phplugins extensibility feature. What this does is insert "stuff" into parts of pages. There are many "hooks" for inserting custom content.
For css, it inserts into the <head> tag the reference to where you store your custom css. People usually just put their custom css in the /phplugins/css/ folder but in reality, you can put it anywhere you like as long as you provide the correct reference.

Here's where you can find the entirety of the phplugins documentation: http://ce3wiki.theturninggate.net/doku.php#phplugins

and specifically enabling phplugins: http://ce3wiki.theturninggate.net/doku. … _phplugins

and enabling custom css: http://ce3wiki.theturninggate.net/doku. … custom_css

It's not too difficult to implement and Matt has already included the code to reference a custom.css file in the phplugings.php file.

Re: CE3 Gallery Only?

Terrific!  I assume, I hope, that it all becomes part of the template, so when I do a new gallery, I can just change the title and images.  This should keep me busy for a while, so thank you so much for providing the references that I was seeking.  Please keep this thread open, however, just in case!

Take care,

Re: CE3 Gallery Only?

be sure to save your settings in the Template Browser. Otherwise, when you load up CE3 Gallery again with a new collection, you'll get the default settings.

Also be sure to set up your phplugins for global use (with the server path to your phplugins folder), that way all galleries you create will draw upon the same custom css file.

Re: CE3 Gallery Only?

Thanks, I had already checked off that phplugins box, renamed the resulting gallery phplugins folder per Matt's directions, then moved it into a more global path so all other galleries may reference it.  then saved it in the LR Template Browser presets section.  I am a huge fan of presets and use them in so many areas of LR.  Your reminder was good feedback that I did the right thing ... at least in that regard!  Now, I'll see what other trouble I can get into!

Take care, and many thanks again,
