Over the last week I've been trying to integrate my TTG Pages and Galleries design. Thanks to excellent documentation and fine help coming from this forum, I move forward step-by-step.
PHP, CSS, it's all a bit confusing sometimes, but adequate help keeps me on the road!
Which means I encounter new problems, like this one:
I've read how to format and where to put my own favicon. Yet all I see, keep seeing, is the default Polaroid-favicon. I am sure I have read the manual well and put in things properly. But for some reason the default favicon keeps appearing from some (hidden?) place.
What am I doing wrong?

Are these the instructions you followed?

Where on your server did you place your Favicon?
What location did you enter in the Favicon Address field of the Page Setup section?

I entered this location in the Favicon Address of the Page Setup section: http://www.humarts.nl/resources/images/favicon.png.
On the server, that's where the file favicon.png is placed.

The favicon caches a little too easily. Try a hard refresh of the browser (how to do that depends on the browser).

looks like it's still the polaroid. You can place your custom favicon there, but when you export Pages again and upload, it will be overwritten (because Pages generates the polaroid icon).
A better place to put it is in the root of your site: /favicon.png and then set the address in the Favicon Address field to /favicon.png
This way, you can never accidentally overwrite it by uploading Pages assets

@ Matthew: On my iMac the hard refresh is <CMD>-<R>, which I tried, without the desired result. Thanks anyway for your effort.
@Rod: I moved the favicon to the root www.humarts.nl, then I changed the address in http://www.humarts.nl/favicon.png. Did not work. I tried /favicon.png, also without any result.
I noticed something funny furthermore: when I use the tab "Galleries" and then click on one of my galleries, the Polaroid-favicon disappears and is replaced by a tiny icon, kind of a small world-globe. Maybe this is of any use for the both of you?

you've place favicon.png in the root of your site, alright, but the graphic itself is still the polaroid:
http://www.humarts.nl/favicon.png.
Create another graphic, name it favicon.png, and upload it again. Maybe even delete the one that's there first in case you're FTP client isn't overwriting the existing file.
I'm not seeing any favicon with any of your galleries. The page source shows this:
<link rel="icon" type="image/x-icon" href="http://www.humarts.nl/resources/images" />
but that just goes to a folder, not a file.
What address have you entered in the Favicon Address field for your galleries?
The only globe icon I see is in Firefox, just to the left of the url in the address window. But that's just part of Firefox.
Also on another subject, your Vogeldag Zeeland gallery has a space in its name. Don't use spaces in folder or filenames, it could cause other problems. Rename that gallery to Vogeldag-Zeeland

Your favicon shows up for me :-)
Looks like all is fixed now. Favicon reference points to the correct file:
<link rel="icon" type="image/x-icon" href="http://www.humarts.nl/favicon.png" />

Actually, that's the soft refresh (i.e. refresh from cache).
On a Mac, if you want to refresh from source ("hard" refresh), then use Shift-CMD-R. At least, that should be the case for Safari and Chrome.

I'm also seeing the custom favicon now.

OK, thanks Daniel and Matthew! Seems everybody can see the favicon, except me!
Strange, but also funny!
@ Matthew: typing Shift-CMD-R shows no reaction and change!?

Another thing occurs. When I click on the "Galleries"-tab and after that on one of my galleries, the Polaroid-icon disappears, being replaced by a tiny blue kind of world-globe.
Does that ring a bell to some of you?

Forget the last reply! I don't know what I did right, but now the Polaroid-icon shows up everywhere!
I get the feeling this might be a specific iMac and/or Safari-problem.
In that case I'm lost ...

Hello Daniel, Rod and Matthew!
The favicon-problem is solved. All I had to do is "Refresh Safari!"
I got this solution from someone in the Apple-community.
Anyway, I am very grateful for the time and effort you guys spent on helping a guy like me.
I'll probably need more help in time to come .....

Always be sure to check your site in other browsers too, like Chrome, IE, Firefox, and Opera
And if you don't see your changes being applied, clear the browser cache and refresh.

You're right, Rod, in Chrome and IE there seems to be no problem. So the "looks" of the pages are almost ready. I have chosen for a rather sober environment, that's what I like on photo-sites. On the other hand, I do not have many choices: my skills are not that high to make really flashy sites. Talking on sober: I even doubt if I will keep the the blurred page-background.
Thanks again for the useful advice!
