Using old versions

Hi, I am using the following as plug-ins to Lightroom: TTG CE2 Auto Index 5.2.4, TTG Highslide Gallery CE 3.1.3 and TTG Cart CE 1.2.0

All has worked fine up until a few weeks ago. The large images displayed in the gallery have pixelated lines across them. Not all but possibly a quarter of the gallery. I've tried replacing the images in ftp but no success.

If you recommend an upgrade, do I lose all of my settings? I'm non technical so could you please talk through any response step-by-step.

Thanks in advance

Re: Using old versions

If you upgrade then yes, you'll lose all your settings. User templates you create from one version are not compatible with other versions  (e.i CE2 to CE3 ).

But you can save time by designing in one CE3 plug-in and then sharing the settings between other CE3 plug-ins. That's outlined here.

To your current problems. Do you see the image problems in Lightroom, on the web, or both? If you need help with it, can you post a link?

Re: Using old versions

I'd rather keep what I have if at all possible. You can see example by going to http://www.osbornephotography.co.uk/taradavid username: branston password: november2013

If you go to the Preparation button you'll see examples 4, 7, 31, 44, 53, 54, 57, 58, 65 and 79

Re: Using old versions

It looks like it's probably a Lightroom issue. Have you tried experimenting with the standard Lightroom HTML galleries to see if this happens with those too?
Does this ever happen when using the Library Module's export function?

What version of Lightroom are you using?

If this is what the gallery is outputting, then re-uploading them via FTP won't help. Are you seeing the same problem when you open the images directly from the photos/ folder after you've exported the gallery to your local machine?
(another question: are you using Lightroom's Upload feature or Exporting then uploading via FTP?)

Re: Using old versions

Sorry to answer your question Rod, the lines don't appear in LR, just in the gallery online

Re: Using old versions

Only online? Have you looked at the images on your desktop computer after the gallery has been exported?

Re: Using old versions

Have just experimented with the standard HTML galleries and the lines appear on just one image in a gallery (compared to 10 in the Highslide).

No, never happens with the Library Module's export function.

I'm on Lightroom 5.2

No, the photos that are exported to my local machine all appear fine

I've always exported then uploaded via ftp rather than using the Upload feature (found it to be quicker and easier to make minor changes to)

then this is just weird.

Does this happen when you open the gallery in your browser on your local machine (not on the web) or only after you've uploaded the images.

Re: Using old versions

It only seems to happen when they make the transition online. They're fine on local machine but then corrupt when dragged into ftp.

I'm wondering whether my server is creaking with too much volume? I've just deleted some unused galleries and will do more

Re: Using old versions

Sure sounds like something's happening in transition. Plain weird. Perhaps someone with more knowledge about these things will chime in.
Either way, if it's an issue with FTP then upgrading your TTG plug-ins probably wouldn't help.

I'm wondering if your FTP client is corrupting images on upload. Seems unlikely but worth trying another FTP client to see if it makes a difference.

Re: Using old versions

I've changed FTP client, deleted the files and re-uploaded the entire gallery. Same problem (different pictures).

At a loss now...

Re: Using old versions

It's now appearing to be a wider problem as I've just exported a Juicebox gallery and it has pixelated lines across it too. Does this suggest it's a Lightroom problem?

Re: Using old versions

Link above looks okay to me.

Maybe a connectivity issue with your server resulting in lost or corrupted data? Really hard to say for sure, especially since I find myself unable to observe the problem.

Re: Using old versions

And if you're not seeing problems with galleries when viewed from your desktop (rather than online) then it's not a Lightroom problem.
