I just spent $25 on "TTG CE3 Gallery" to find out that this is not what I was looking for. Is there anywhere a proper comparison explaining what the differences are between the ttg versions or do I have to keep buying them until I find out? The descriptions on each modules page sound so similar that it's hard to understand what they do or more importantly don't do...maybe that's the way way sell more??

@Ben Currently I use a lightroom plugin that creates full screen slideshows with navigation links. I've built my complete website including the startpage with it. The only downside is that it doesn't work on Windows phones or Android.
I got the impression that ttg gallery has something close to that to offer but I can't customize the startpage to have a slideshow instead of the grid. I looked in the forum and I saw someone had a galleria plugin with a slideshow on the start page but I can't figure out if I need ttg ce3 stage or ttg ce3 page or both because one is needed for the other?
@rod barbee I have not seen that info.php site so thanks for that but it's still confusing to me.
Thanks for the answers!

Either Pages or Stage will give you the Galleria slide show.
If you want to create an entire site that includes several pages such as a Galleries Page, Contact, Info, About, etc., then Pages is a good choice.
If you have an existing site and just wanted to add a new home or start page, then Stage can do that for you. Stage can do a lot more too (including creating a Contact page, before/after comparison pages, and general purpose pages)
