Hello!
I've been slowly having issues with my galleries and now my contact page. I used to receive client feedback with no issues and then I found out clients were sending me image selections but I wasn't receiving the email. One client realized if she put my email address in instead of hers then it would get through to me. I decided I would change the contact email from an apple email to my website email in the templates (haven't done that yet). I was hoping that would solve the problem. Then today an email from my contact form inquiry and the person wrote in the email that they couldn't see what they were typing and they "hoped this would get to me". I called the person and she described not being able to see what she was inputting.
Not sure if this is related but I received this email from Bluehost. In short my question is going to be, which option should I choose when upgrading my BlueHost account to their PHP choices. I'm not sure if the problems I'm having is related to PHP in any way and I don't want to select the wrong option. Any help very appreciated!
here's the email copied and pasted as well as my PHP choices to upgrade to:
Dear Jack,
PHP, the web programming language, has several different versions and we will be phasing out PHP version 5.2 in the near future as it has been unsupported by its creators for several years now, along with PHP 5.3. Your account is currently using version 5.2/5.3 and you are strongly encouraged to switch to version 5.4 within the next 7 days. If you do not then your account will be automatically upgraded to 5.4 along with any extensions you have chosen to include in your current 5.2/5.3 configuration. You can upgrade PHP by navigating to your cPanel, going to the category Software/Services and clicking the link PHP Config. From there, scroll down and select any of the PHP 5.4 options.
Bluehost Support
AND HERE ARE THE CHOICES FOR UPGRADING:
PHP 5.2
All files with the extension .php will be handled by the PHP 5.2 engine.
Legacy PHP with security updates. Compatible with most environments.
PHP 5.2 (Single php.ini)
Same as PHP 5.2, but all subdirectories will use ~/public_html/php.ini
PHP 5.2 (FastCGI)
All files with the extension .php will be handled by PHP 5.2 FastCGI processes.
FastCGI for PHP makes all your PHP applications run through mod_fastcgi instead of mod_suphp. This eliminates the overhead of loading the PHP interpreter on every hit. Since it is always in memory ready for the next hit, the responses will be generated faster.
PHP 5.3
All files with the extension .php will be handled by the PHP 5.3 engine.
Most reliable and compatible version of PHP.
PHP 5.3 (Single php.ini)
Same as PHP 5.3, but all subdirectories will use ~/public_html/php.ini
PHP 5.4
All files with the extension .php will be handled by the PHP 5.4 engine.
Latest version of PHP.
PHP 5.4 (Single php.ini)
Same as PHP 5.4, but all subdirectories will use ~/public_html/php.ini
PHP 5.4 (FastCGI)
All files with the extension .php will be handled by PHP 5.4 FastCGI processes.
FastCGI for PHP makes all your PHP applications run through mod_fastcgi instead of mod_suphp. This eliminates the overhead of loading the PHP interpreter on every hit. Since it is always in memory ready for the next hit, the responses will be generated faster.
Thanks for any help,
Jack

We haven't heard of any issues using PHP 5.4. You shouldn't need to work about it.
As for messages not showing up, it's possible that they are being identified as spam by the outgoing mail server. Make sure you supply a "FROM" address where requested in the Web module during setup; this should be an email address at the same domain as your website, and can help with security clearance.
