CE3 Integration into Existing HTML Site

Hello,

I am trying to integrate a auto index page for a gallery directory and then have a CE3 gallery into a pre existing HTML / CSS website I have. If I understand correctly PHPPlugin is used where you want to keep a template consistent over several plugins but the template has to be made with either the options given in the plugin. In addition to using auto index and gallery, I would like to have a client response gallery and cart all running on my existing site while keeping my current html and css. There is no way I can recreate the site with the current adjustable fields given in the plugin.

Any help would be deeply appreciated. Thank you!

Re: CE3 Integration into Existing HTML Site

Our plugins are not embeddable into existing designs. They are designed to operate as independent pages. You can run them alongside your existing site, but not embed them into your existing design.

You can perhaps shim parts of your design into the pages via PHPlugins, using techniques demonstrated in this tutorial:

But that tutorial is outdated, so should be used only as reference, not as walkthrough. And much depends upon the specifics of your design.

Re: CE3 Integration into Existing HTML Site

Thank you Matthew for responding so quickly. That is really frustrating to hear, I guess I completely misinterpreted at least the auto index, gallery, and publish plugins. Do you happen to know if there is any plans on adding such ability in future updates or if there will be a effort put into streamlining the plugins to make it a little easier to create a full site ? And is there any plans in the future to update the documentation and create more tutorials? I should have looked further into the documentation and reached out before spending $160, quite disappointed. I am sorry if my comments come off rude, I am not sure if you're the developer or what your role is. Just a frustrated customer, sorry.

Thank you for respond,

Re: CE3 Integration into Existing HTML Site

You CAN create a full site with our plugins. That's half the point. And we have a lot of tutorials on how to do just that, and many users who have done so quite happily.

The problem is that you shouldn't come at the plugins expecting them to integrate into whatever you've already got, which I can't possibly have any idea about, because I have nothing to do with your existing website.

So you can rebuild your site using our plugins. Or you can approximate the appearance of your site, then run the galleries and etc. side-by-side with what you have.

But if you were hoping to slap our galleries into an iframe or anything similar, then that's not going to work. That would just break stuff, and -- even if it didn't break stuff -- would negate a lot of what makes our plugins work so nicely, like their capability to adapt to desktop, tablets and phones.
