Is it possible to copy BL2 site to iPad for offline viewing?

Hi all,

Is there a (simple) way to copy my site to my iPad for viewing offline?  I use BL2 with LR.

Thank you!

are there any virtual server/development apps like WAMP or MAMP for the iPad? That might be one way.

Re: Is it possible to copy BL2 site to iPad for offline viewing?

I've been wanting a feature for YEARS that would let me publish my photos to the iPad. I've tried several options, but they end up making me create a separate album in LightRoom and then manually maintain it, to then manually update to the iPad. I even pursued an option to sync LR albums, which didn't really work out because it still left so much for manual labor.

I would love to see BL have an option to publish to the iPad. BL could create a mini app for the iPad, and then publish very custom galleries. The limitations of web servers and HTML/CSS are removed. A small iOS app could drive the UI/UX, and LR/BL would simply push assets to the iPad. I'd accept a default couple of themes. Building custom themes is a nice-to-have. I mainly just want hi-rez copies on my iPad. The browsing experience is minimal.

Rod,

I said "simple!"  <g>  Just Googling virtual servers is already way over my head.  I'm with Jim and would love to see BL provide its current simplicity to offline site viewing on an iPad.  I'm sure nothing on the programming end is simple, so I will continue to show my site to others on the iPad only when on WiFi.

Thanks your your reply, however.

Jim, I'd love to be able to make such an app. But there aren't enough hours in the day to make something like that. I've dabbled with iOS Publisher clients, making a very rudimentary one for Backlight, but that's as far as I've ever got.

The solution would probably be to create galleries as progressive web apps. It's rather a different way to built, though, than Backlight is built.
