Hi guys,
I finally bought backlight 2 and have been working out how best to upgrade from CE4.
I currently use CE4 for www.peterblandford.com and use publisher regularly to update the galleries
I also use the CE4 WP theme on www.begurvillas.com
Firstly the photography site peterblandford.com
Ideally I would like to install a second version of the site and when working change my host to point to the new site. I have followed Matthew's youtube installation and installed BL2 to new.peterblandford.com, I see that I could upgrade my CE4 galleries using the migration tool in publisher. As I am trying to do it parallel to the old site I do not have the galleries there.
1. Is there a way to create a copy of all the galleries from my old site parallel to the new ones?
2. Is there a way to copy the style and settings from the old site to the new one?
On begurvillas.com
As this is just a wordpress file I guess i need to create a wordpress theme and install it on my site.
1. What are the advantages of BL2 over CE4 WP theme? - I'm wondering if it is worth the trouble
2. Again can I copy all the settings from the old theme to the new one? I'd like to keep the look of the site
Thanks for the advice.

1: yes, as long as they are Publisher based albums
2: no. This is completely new so you’ll have to start over. The good news is that designing in Backlight is a lot easier and faster than using Lightroom’s Web Module. A. Lot. Faster.
See if this helps

On the WordPress theme
1: same style as your site. Theme creation is easier. Latest coding
2: The theme is based off of design in Backlight, so no

Thanks Rod, I'm just following your very useful blog, I've got to this bit
In Lightroom, install the version of Publisher that came with your Backlight download. It will take over for the CE4 version. Nothing will change as far as your CE4 site is concerned. You’ll still be able to publish as normal. TTG CE4 Publisher will be inactivated, replace by TTG Publisher.
TTG Publisher didn't come with my download?

Sorry, that blog was written prior to Backlight 2. I'll update it.
In Backlight 2 there's a link to download the Publisher plug-in at the top of your Backlight Modules page.

Got it, thanks Rod, assume the rest is still valid?

Sorry, tried searching, I found the download page for sample templates but can't find what you do with them when you have downloaded them?

Install them in Backlight.
from the Backlight menu hover over Designer > Templates > Import Templates
