Hi all,

is it worth to install the Unlimited Sitemap Generator (https://www.xml-sitemaps.com/standalone … rator.html) to create a xml-sitemap + images sitemap?

Or not?

Thank you for anwers!

Best regards,

Re: general SEO question

Thank you, Oliver.

Unfortunately, I personally have no experience with the Unlimited Sitemap Generator, so cannot advise one way or the other.

Re: general SEO question

Oliver, I'm not familiar with Unlimited Sitemap Generator but I also can't see how it could work. If it could automagically spider your site and find all the images, then so could search engines. So we're stuck with the question how to find all the images to create the sitemap in the first place.

If you have your Google Analytics account setup, you should find all of your images already indexed. You can confirm a URL has been indexed (recorded in Google's search database) by using the URL tester in the Search Console.

I've been thinking of how Backlight can improve on SEO, and the topic of a sitemap is one I've been pondering. I'm not sure this would be an improvement. So long as Google can find your images, which it appears to be doing when I test my site, then I don't see how adding a site map will help much.
