Does the web based album publisher support drag and drop from other software your do you have to select files to upload from a menu?
It's not made very clear in the blog post.

To upload new images, you can used drag+drop.
Specifically: Drag and drop from Windows Explorer or MAC Finder.
You’ll need to export your images as jpg and sized/sharpened to your needs from whatever image processing/management software you’re using.
Pretty much just like prepping to upload to WordPress.

Rod,
I'm a bit worried when you say "specifically from Windows Explorer", are you saying you can't select images in other software and drag them across. I use ACDSee Pro software for my organizing and basic editing and I want to be able to drag and drop from there.

I don't have ACDSee but I can tell you that you can't drag and drop from Lightroom, for instance.
Currently, you can either use Lightroom to publish, or the image upload from specific folders on your computer (By browsing to the folders in the Backlight interface or dragging from an open folder on your computer). Images must be jpg, no more than 64 GB per photo, and a maximum of 100 photos at a time.
I believe what you want would require some sort of software interface from ACDSee to Backlight. The only software currently supported is Lightroom.

Ok, that's a shame. I'm guessing ACDSee is much like Lightroom for drag and drop. I use colored labels for image selection when making a gallery so uploading from Windows explored won't work.
With album software such as JAlbum drag and drop works well and make it very easy to create a gallery.
Seems like this update isn't for me

ACDSee only works on Windows. Since I'm on a Mac, I can't try the evaluation version (https://www.acdsee.com/en/free-trials). Sorry.
But if you can drag files to another application, you can drag them onto your Desktop too? Then just drag them from there to Backlight 2.

Drag-and-drop between applications should be nothing to do with Backlight specifically, and more to do with whether the specific application and your web-browser allow you to drag-and-drop between the two.

FYI: Drag-and-Drop from ON1 Photo Raw to Backlight 2 Publisher works on the Mac!

Perhaps this is one of those issues that could be resolved with a (say 14 day) trial option of the software
Offline
Being Web code, not desktop software, we'd have no way of disabled in after 14 days. Hence our never doing a trial version; we'd just be giving it away for free.

As Matt said. If we do make trial software it would be hosted on our server for you to try there.
