I recently had an issue with my website\hosting, so I needed to restore the "custom" & "data". The backup was made a few weeks ago so a few albums were missing, I.E they were in LR\Publisher. After the files were copied back everything was ok with the website and all the galleries appeared apart from the few that were uploaded since the files were backed up. No big deal I thought I could just republish the galleries, this wasn't as straight forward as I thought it should have been.
Trying to republish the missing galleries throws up an error, saying template Id????? is missing, what I found is you have to dismiss the error, double click the album (as if you were going to make a change, click edit) then "mark to republish". Now I know it's not a big deal\issue but as the files are quite large (1.4gb), so a bit of a pain to download every time you've uploaded a new gallery etc. I thought I would just be able to republish and any galleries missing would be re-uploaded??
Or am I missing something?

I think Lightroom expects the galleries to exist in some form, as it understands the galleries to have been previously published, and so it expects to find certain things. This is why galleries should only be removed from within Lightroom.
