Pangolin Search page customisation

It is a while since I did my initial Backlight v1 conversion but I had a Search page that now is superceded by the new top pallet search in 1.2. Where can one add useful information for a user on a journey through the site about what they can search for?
I am struggling to find somewhere to edit.
Thanks

Re: Pangolin Search page customisation

You can do it directly on the Search page (under Publisher Settings > Search Intro)

Many thanks Rod,
I knew it was somewhere but had not looked here.
I like the bold d by the way. I ought to try that with the s on my surname...

I'm willing to bet there's thoughts of "if I had a nickel for every time someone didn't carefully see the spelling of my name even with that hint, I'd be awfully rich" though I have to say he's so nice to not actually point that out.

My given name is not the standard spelling used in the southern US and after a while you just laugh to yourself when you see someone blow the spelling of your name in an EMAIL only a couple of centimeters away from the correct spelling.  And then keep doing that throughout the EMAIL... smile

Re: Pangolin Search page customisation

The number of times I've been emailed, "Hi Michael" ...

Which is almost funny, because I almost actually was a Michael. But so is my uncle, and my parents thought maybe he'd like to pass the name along to his own son eventually. So I got "Matthew", and then my cousin Michael came along the following year.

Re: Pangolin Search page customisation

Thanks for the new releases.
I have installed them but I don't know whether I have a problem with the search tool or not.
pangolin search
When I enter search criteria I get back what I thought I would have seen on the initial view with regard to instructions
pangolin search results
Should I be seeing the search page with my text inviting a user to search for something or the default first pane?
As always thanks in advance.

Re: Pangolin Search page customisation

If you click on that Search icon in the top pallet of your site (the one you get by enabling the option under Navigation), you'll get the plain pop-up type page.
If that's not what you want for your visitors, then you could place a search link in your navigation that takes them to the Search page where your text is.

Re: Pangolin Search page customisation

But speaking of that pop-up...

Matt and Ben, is there a localization for the placeholder text (Enter Search, hit Return...) in the search pop-up?

Re: Pangolin Search page customisation

Nope! Something we need to add. Please keep an eye out for any other bits of text that cannot be localized. I think I got everything in the slideshow, but there may be some things like the search text that slipped by me.
