I am really pleased with how BL has come on and my photography site has never looked better. My instance of BL is installed in a sub-domain of my main business domain as Photography absorbs more income than it generates for me but here is the rub, my top level domain looks dire now and needs updating because BL looks so good IMHO.
I suffered a burglary last autumn when my main processing machine was stolen and although I have backup files of my top-level domain and the original software that I could reinstall, I don't want to go back into using the software used for that site as it is not truly responsive. I have two options I am considering at present and they are;
Multisite WordPress - my BL blog is in WordPress with WP installed in a folder off the sub-domain where BL sits - so top level pages could be developed in WP or,
Install a copy of BL in my top-level domain i.e. the folder level above where the photography site sits and use the page design tools to redevelop those pages
My question is whether BL can be installed twice in the web server i.e. additionally in a folder above one where it is working very well? If this is possible are there any pitfalls? If this sounds crazy then please say so.
It goes without saying that I do not want to rock the boat and destroy all the good work.
Thanks.

I have backlight installed in several subdomains in my hosting account. each is managed separately.
You can also install in sub-folders.
There might be pitfalls, depending on what exactly you want to do.

Thanks Rod,
Basically I am thinking of managing my main site pages using BL - that is not the photography site but is the entity that owns the photography side of the business. One or two of those pages might have an image or two and I can link off to the photography site as I do now. BL is so easy to configure and at least it will give me a more professional look and feel.
So I presume I just do a normal install in the companyname folder on my ISP web server as the photography site sits at tomowens.companyname level. I just wanted to ask if this was a doable thing without screwing anything up but it sounds OK from what you are saying.
Thanks.

I don't know why I waited so long to do this. http://www.openpoint.co.uk/home/ . OK it still needs work but a morning out from doing work for other people has been the easiest refresh ever and it all looks like it is living together.
Thanks to Matt, Ben Rod and others for all the help along the way.
I might actually get out and make some new work now.
