can you post a link to your site?
Are you using Backlight+Pages? If so, did you upload the index.php and .htaccess files?

You should also update to the latest version of Backlight

Current version of Backlight is 1.1.1. Please update to the latest.

Thanks so much, I will update to the latest, how do I find out where that is? Sorry, I've been looking, just can't seem to find it on the site.
Now I am unable to navigate the site at all, before I was able to see the home page and go through all of the pages... I was even editing them and working with them in Backlight, but now, nothing. Hoping when I get the update it will resolve the issues.
And yes I have it set up like you explained!
My site is nikrocklin.com
Thanks again,
Nik

There's a link near the top of the Support page: http://theturninggate.net/support/
your current home page looks like the Backlight back-end. It looks to me like things have been installed incorrectly.
There is an index.php file inside the unzipped backlight/ folder (from your download). This IS NOT the index.php file that needs to be uploaded to the root of your site. It appears that this is the index.php file you've uploaded.
The correct index.php file is inside the unzipped Backlight-Pages-xxx/ folder. Upload this along with the .htaccess file

hmmm,
1. So it looks to me that on my end I have it set up like your screen grab. Not sure how to send a screen grab to you, but in the root directory I have:
backlight
galleries
logs
.htaccess
index.php
Just don't get it, it was working fine two days ago and then after I was working in backlight yesterday and rearranging pages and such it just stopped working. I never went into the directory and changed anything...
2. I am trying to figure out the download for the update but all I see is :
"Re-Download Your Purchase
For orders placed on or after February 1, 2016, click here to resend your purchases to your email. To re-download older purchases, lookup your downloads by order number and email address here."
I did this, but it just sent me all the previous ones I purchased...before backlight...??
Man, I don't know what's going on. I am a digital Technician in the Photography world, so I am used to working with this kind of thing, but I am having some troubles with this.
Thanks for the help!

Which download option did you try? Did you use the email address from which you purchased Backlight?

on including screen shots: http://community.theturninggate.net/vie … hp?id=7046
My screen shot is from my download folder, just to be clear, and not from the server. I just want to confirm that you've uploaded the correct index.php file.

I suggest contacting Matt through the support form on the support page so he can look up your order.

OK I will contact Matt.
Would the site work for a while and just stop if it was uploaded incorrectly?

If the wrong index.php file was uploaded, then I can imagine this happening. Can you try uploading the correct index.php file again (the one directly in the download folder as shown above, not the one in the backlight/ folder)

Thanks Rod,
I tried to upload the index.php that came in the backlight folder again, and it is still acting the same...
When Matt gets back to me with how I can download the update and try that...

your home page is here: http://nikrocklin.com/home/
I was able to find it by guessing that you might have a galleries page set up so I went to nikrocklin.com/galleries and was able to navigate your site.
Try logging into Backlight and going to Designer > Pages
Click on Home
Click on Edit Properties
Set Index Page to Yes

YES!
Thanks so much Rod! As soon as I get the update I am sure we will be in good shape. Back to designing.
Thanks again,

If you still have the original email that contained your backlight download link, you can use that.

Yeh, I looked... can't seem to find the one for Backlight

Nik,
There's no Backlight order for that email address, or for your surname; just CE4 stuff. Obviously you've purchased Backlight, else you wouldn't have it. So is there another name or address you might have ordered with that I can search for?
