Here's a strange thing I've been chasing for a couple days. When first going to http://photophart.com the cart button appears in the upper right corner of the home page even though there is nothing in the cart. I am modifying the cart background color with custom CSS. If I click to a gallery then back to the home page, it's gone. Not a big deal but mildly annoying. Anyone else seeing this?
Regards, Mark

I'm seeing it on your site too. Checked in Firefox, Chrome, Edge and Opera. Refreshing page makes it go away but it shouldn't be there in the first place.
have you tried resetting the cart (I doubt it will work, but...)
Are you using any custom javascript on your site?

Reset cart?? No custom javascript, just the custom CSS. Did reset template cache and cleared browser cache. I also swore at it in Latin and German which is fun but not productive.
Mark
Found cart reset. Tried it. No go.

Has it always done this? Can you get back to a point where it doesn't do it?

Hasn't always done it. Just noticed it a few days ago cuz it was drawn to my attention by a site visitor. I keep track of all site changes in subversion so I'll spend some time today back-tracking to see what I changed and when. More to come.

Have traced things back to July via subversion and can find nothing that fixes this issue. Would it be possible to re-install the cart module without wiping out all my products and pricing data? Or to put the question another way: is my cart data stored outside the cart module in such a way that re-installing cart wouldn't destroy it?

yep. All of your settings, profiles, orders, etc. are saved in the database files in /backlight/data/cart

Thanks Rod. Am putting up a new cart module as we speak.
Mark
Addendum: We have a winner. FTPd a fresh copy of module-cart to my site and the problem is no more.
Thanks

Whoops. Spoke too soon. The problem was gone for awhile. Now it's back. So now I'm wondering what happens after cart is installed and sits for awhile? Does it make changes to the database? Or does something have to propagate through the site? Cuz it is pretty weird. Oh, by the way the site was also updated this morning to Backlight-pages 110, all without incident.

OPEN MOUTH, INSERT FOOT.
Well, talk about operator error. Combing through the admin section I happened upon an incomplete setting (in red, pretty obvious) in a product's shipping charge. Wonder of wonders, when I fixed that the problem truly did go away (I Hope).

try clearing browser cache. I'm not seeing the cart widget showing up on your site in any browser.

I'm not able to see this on your site. Can you let us know if it crops up again, and how to see the issue if it does?
