Is there a way to enable access to the comments/rating dialog from the large image view?
It seems odd that a client has to go back to the thumbnail view from the larger image view, click the pencil only to be taken back to the large image view with access to comments and ratings.

Not that I know of, but Matt would have to answer definitively.
The Backlight Client Response, however, does have a feedback button on the large images

There is not a way to add them. And there's surely some technical reason that I didn't make them a feature of the slideshow, though development is so far back at this point, I cannot remember what that reason might have been.

To confirm, Backlight + Client Response will enable the ability to collect feedback from highslide view?

Not Highslide. It's a Photoswipe gallery. But yes, the feedback icon is on the large image pages
