Hello,
When I specify the size of an album image at, sat, 960px, it is stretched to 1536px (a full-screen width) in the slider pop-up window on iPad retina screen. As a result, images do look soft (examples are here: http://judophoto.com.au/galleries/perfo … nderella/).
Th similar situation happens on Mac retina screens (the images are stretched and soft).
I went through the documentation a few times (as well as through albums settings), and cannot find any options to switch on different image sizes depending on the type of display (or, "downsize" the images on retina displays to keep them at the specified size).
Am I missing something?
Many thanks!

If you want images to look good on Retina iPads, then you need to export images at sizes greater than the iPad display.

Matthew,
Thanks for that -- I do understand this solution.
On a flip side, is there a way to force an image to be displayed at "0.5" width on a retina display? That would be a preference... Smaller, but crisper.
Are there any plans to implement sthn along the lines of srcset?
Thanks

srcset is nice for embedding images into blog posts, UI graphics into page designs, etc. It is not, however, a catch-all solution for sprawling image galleries, nor script-based slideshows in particular, and it comes with performance tradeoffs in publishing, plus other complications. At present, we do not believe this to be a good value proposition for Backlight.
I think you will see significantly better results exporting images at 1280, rather than 960.

Thank you.
