Now that the new wordpress additon is out I could not heelp wondering about a roadmap. The theme is quite straightforward. Good for a photography site with an added blog. However I think the overall looks would improve quite a bit with a masonry layout for categories of posts. Just to keep up with the great looks of the albums.
Are there plans to faclitate that in the near future ?

Have you thought of trying a plug-in for this?
I've not tried any of these, but a bunch showed up with search on "wordpress masonry post plugin"

For the time being, I'd be happy with support for a sidebar in the default theme.

To get sidebars, just use a page template that has two or three columns.
See Matt's demo video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oZ3DxXX … e=youtu.be

Yes I have looked at plugins. They all seem to generate code that you have to insert in some theme file. With examples how to do that in regular themes as 2012 etc. Coding in TTG is different.
And I do not want to do all this stuff. Would like a regular option or a documented feature in phplugins, Not going to hack into source files.

the first one on that list can generate a short code that you can insert into a page. I just created a page, inserted the shortcode, and I got a masonry layout of my existing blog posts. (only three test posts at the moment).
This does not affect the blog home page though. But you can create a page, insert the shortcode, and then assign that page to be the blog's static home page (under Reading settings)

Ah Thanxs
I sort of gave up. I found an instruction video of some kind (of the first one that I had installed) that was about hacking code.
This is fairly simple. However it dooes not yet provide what I would want. But I can try stuff from this point on I guess.
