create a folder in the root of the site and name it "blog" or something. Install WordPress in the new blog/ folder.
Do all the things you need to do with WordPress.
Add a link in your navigation to /blog
Of course, the design won't match your Backlight design. The closest you might come would be using CE4 Theme for WordPress.
But if the blog design isn't critical, you could use any theme for now and then just wait until Matt releases the Backlight WordPress theme. It's easy to switch between themes and you wouldn't lose any of your posts.
