I've set up a small test site to play with Backlight. Sure is easier than from Lightroom! There's one problem so far that's causing me to scratch my head. I created an album to display a masonry-style gallery on the Home page. After uploading, it shows up under Galleries exactly as expected, with a nice alignment of photos. But when I attach that same gallery to the Home page, the masonry alignment is completely off.
Here it is as seen from Galleries: http://www.mabtesting.dreamhosters.com/galleries/Home/
And here is the same gallery attached to the Home page: http://www.mabtesting.dreamhosters.com/home/
As you can see, the masonry alignment is off on the Home page but fine in Galleries. Thoughts?

I notice that the Photoswipe large image presentation isn't working properly either.

I like the border you put around the large images. Nice touch.

The page is crashing before it's finished loading (so no Javascript is loaded), with this error in the source code:
Something went wrong
Unexpected error: Call to a member function mapsEnabled() on a non-object in 85-page-1.0.0-9-18-menu_8-81-content-1.0.0-6-23.view.template on line 412
Ben will need to get a look at that. It looks like the maps function might be breaking when galleries are embedded into the page, though. If that's something we need to fix, we'll look into it. But in the meantime, edit the album in Lightroom and switch OFF the Maps Enabled checkbox under the Features tab; see whether that solves it for you.
On the upside, you've now seen how the gallery continues to function in single-image page mode when Javascript goes to hell. Cool right? I need to add some features to those single-image pages, though.

We would need to look at line 412 of that file, as found in backlight/data/designer/cache

Do you want me to send you a file from the server? I verified that the behavior persists even after turning off the Maps.

We have a short term solution for the next update. It won't get maps working on embedded pages, but it will keep them from crashing until we can look into a better fix.

OK, thanks.

Update: Maps and everything will work just fine on pages when 1.0.1 hits. We've got another day or two of testing to do before we kick it out the door, but you can expect it this week.

Sounds good, thanks.

I verified that the update fixed all issues related to the masony gallery on my home page. Thanks.

That's good news....test site looks great...
To embed a masony galley on the home page - is that set up through lightroom/publisher options or in the web admin area of backlight?
Haven't tried it yet...but keen to

In the menu, go Designer => Pages, then press "Design" for the page you want to edit. You will have options to embed an album, album set or contact form on that page.

Great, thanks Matt.
Had some issues with inserting an album onto the homepage - but Ben made a patch for this and now all working. www.wildlifephoto.com.au

Designer-Templates-Standard Album Template-Design-Thumbnail Presentation-Style
You can change from Classic to Masonry.

Design an album template and in Thumbnail Presentation, choose Masonry under Style and set your Max. Columns.
In Lightroom, create an album using your new Masonry template.
To embed it into the home page, edit the Home Page (Designer > Pages and click Design for the Home page) and click on Insert Album. Then choose the album you just created in Publisher.
