TTG documentation, or lack of

I really appreciate all the work that has gone into TTG plugins, but am concerned that their full potential is not being utilized.

Unless I'm missing something, there seems to be a lack of information on what each setting does in each panel of each plugin. I know there is some documentation at http://ce4.theturninggate.net/, but it's pretty thin beyond the basics.  The trial and error method of change a setting, refresh, wait for Lightroom to occasionally unfreeze, then  only to find it's not what I want is really inefficient.

While I've been using the plugins for years, I still cringe at the thought of making our updating a site.  Sometimes changing the smallest thing can take the better part of 20 minutes trying to find the setting, and for many sliders, I still don't know what they do.

What would be ideal would be to have a screen shot of each panels with arrows that explain what each slider and setting does.

I teach Lightroom and know that better documentation would help to create more interest in self hosted web galleries and further support TTG, which for many people, myself included at times, is too intimidating.

Thanks,

Reid

Re: TTG documentation, or lack of

Many of settings are repeated throughout the plug-ins, things like padding, margin, and width settings and more. To me, those seem to be the ones that trip people up the most. Those are explained here:
http://ce4.theturninggate.net/docs/doku … _box_model

Each plug-in also has the same navigation controls:
http://ce4.theturninggate.net/docs/doku … navigation

In fact, the Universal Setup section of the docs cover pretty much all of the settings common to all plug-ins
http://ce4.theturninggate.net/docs/doku … rsal_setup

But yes, not every control is explained in detail. This is one reason I started my ttg-tips site, though I've not yet tackled the task of attempting to explain each slider and each check-box.

Re: TTG documentation, or lack of

For my website the Video from Matthew https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7rP-fR_ja4o  was very helpfull. I like to watch the video step by step on a pad beside my computer and carry out the settings according the demo for my own site. One ore more Videos which explains each step more in detail to establish a 1st Website would be helpfull. Beside that I did appreciate very much the informations Matthew and Rod are giving and the shared informations in this community.
