login template

Hi, I've just updated crg, caller, publisher, and ttg-be.  I have not updated any of these since i first purchased them.

One problem i've immediately noticed is I've lost the appearance of my login page.  Some of it is there, but not an address bar.  Any idea why this might have happened...or how?  In lightroom it appears fine.  I've re-exported it and the placed the login template on the server but it doesn't show.

Re: login template

can you post a link?

I've re-exported it and the placed the login template on the server but it doesn't show.

did you upload the exported CRG (the entire exported folder) to /ttg-be/templates/gallery/ ?

And then choose that template in the CRG Admin Settings?

Re: login template

after you updated, did you log into ttg-be/crg/admin to make sure the update was complete?

what exactly to you mean by this? The URL window at the top of the browser? I'm seeing it fine. Check your browser view settings perhaps?

Re: login template

I'll try reinstalling.  I did notice that when i went to CRG admin there was no update notice like with the other updates.

I mean a navigation bar.  I've got three links in it.  Also different text on the bottom instead of "follow me"

Is there a way for me to attach a picture?  I have an image here.

Re: login template

And what exactly should I be installing?  Maybe that's a problem.  Depending on the update, there are different things to install on the server.  Should i be installing all the things for the versions i missed?  I was running 6.0.4

To update to 6.1.2 I need to only replace the ttg-be/crg/application directory.

But to update to CRG 6.1.0 I need to replace the ttg-be/crg/application directory, the ttg-be/crg/config directory, and the ttg-be/crg/lib directory

And to update to 6.0.5 I need to replace the ttg-be/crg/application directory and the ttg-be/crg/lib directory.

So should i be installing all three because I haven't update for a while?

I see them: Website, Shop, and Blog

to be safe, install lib/, application/ and config/

I think that Ben is assuming that one is updating from the directly previous version. Therefore, only changed files/folders need updating.
If you're coming from 6.0.4 the I think you need to update all three of those folders.

Re: login template

Here's something else that i consider strange....when i delete the template I'm using in the back end, why does the page still appear exactly as it was before?  Shouldn't it be broken, seeing that I deleted the template?  I double checked that I'm pointing to the correct template in the CRG settings and I am.  Even, now, with it deleted, i switch I can no longer select my template so it goes to "CRG-default", but the log in page looks no different than it did before.  Nothing like it used to look in CRG.  It must be pulling the page from something else.  Any ideas?

Re: login template

try clearing your browser cache. Right now, your login page looks just like the default that comes with CRG

Re: login template

Cleared browser cache...still seeing the same page.  Tried on my phone, still the same.  The only time I see the CRG-default page is if i log out of a gallery, it's the page i see, which incidentally is the only time I could see my login-template file as well.  I'm using firefox.  But I also tried on IE which i never use and see the same.

Also, can't see the log in page on the linked page because it automatically logs me in no matter what I do.

Using this link instead: http://svphoto.ca/proofs/2015101202/

Re: login template

the template you're using is made with CE4 Gallery, not CE4 CRG
http://svphoto.ca/ttg-be/templates/gallery/download/
from the page source:

<meta name="generator" content="CE4 Gallery 6.1.5, 0 published images" />

Re: login template

Very strange.  In lightroom under layout style it reads, "CE4 Client Response Gallery".  The top line under site info also reads, "TTG CE4 Client Response Gallery".  So why would it be showing CE4 Gallery?  I just checked my proofing template and it also is made with CRG.

Alright, figured that part out.  That's the download template.  At the time i created it, CRG was not able to download, so i created a gallery template instead.

The proofing template should be made with CRG
http://svphoto.ca/ttg-be/templates/gallery/proofing/

As well as the login_template:
http://svphoto.ca/ttg-be/templates/gall … _template/

Still not clear why it's not showing up properly.

Re: login template

your log in page is now using the template named 'login_template"

http://svphoto.ca/ttg-be/crg/

what you see on this page: http://svphoto.ca/proofs/2015101202/
is the regular ttg password protection
( I should have realized that earlier)

Ha.  Oh man.  So that's why.  What a waste of time.  Well thanks for figuring it out.  I don't quite understand why there is the choice for the CRG template then in the settings if it's only for when they log out.  Anyway, thanks again.

Re: login template

Alright, so i figured it out.  Finally.

Upon updating, for some reason, some albums are no longer listed in the CRG BE.  The clients are still there, but the albums assigned to them are not.  The albums are still there when i look through FileZilla.  Republishing the album in LightRoom does not make them reappear either.  Anyway, it is these albums, because they are unassigned, I see a different log in then the albums that are assigned.  It is a little worrisome that updating caused some albums to disappear in the back end.  Not sure why that's happening.

http://svphoto.ca/proofs/2015101202/

well, this page: http://svphoto.ca/proofs/2015101202/
is created with CE4 Gallery and therefore cannot be managed by Client Response Management and cannot use the CRG login

Upon updating, for some reason, some albums are no longer listed in the CRG BE. The clients are still there, but the albums assigned to them are not.  The albums are still there when i look through FileZilla.

Based upon the above, I suspect that some of these albums are not actually CRG albums and may perhaps be regular CE4 Galleries or Albums using CE4 Gallery templates.

But if they were Client Response Managed albums that are no longer showing up you should probably contact Ben and give him Admin access to ttg-be.
And since it would be a Publisher issue, he may need to see logs.
More on that here: http://ce4.theturninggate.net/docs/doku … g_for_help

It all depends on how you're using CRG. Client Response login is required if you wish to use the Client Management features such as allowing clients to make selections over several browser sessions.

More here on how the deployment options differ:

Re: login template

All the pages are made by CRG.  Those two pages are using the same template.  Not sure why that's changed.  I'll contact ben.  Thanks for your help.

Re: login template

I can tell by the source code that this page: http://svphoto.ca/proofs/2015101202/
was not made with CRG. It is a password protected Publisher album made with a CE4 Gallery template as shown by this meta tag in the source code:

<meta name="generator" content="CE4 Gallery 6.1.5, via Publisher" />

If it was a Publisher album made with a  CRG template, that same meta tag would look like this:

<meta name="generator" content="CE4 Client Response Gallery 6.0.4, via Publisher" />

Re: login template

Obviously, I have no idea why it's like that.  All i know is that I made both of those using the same template, both with CRG, and uploaded it using publisher.  The only thing I can think of is that at some point during update some of them changed?  I don't know how that would be possible, it's all beyond my realm of understanding.  Hopefully ben can shed some light on things.

Re: login template

what I suggest is exporting another template from CRG, making sure it's named the same as the one being use for this album: http://svphoto.ca/proofs/2015101202/ , (the template's name is 'download'), and uploading it again, perhaps even first deleting the existing 'download' template.

the other login album, with the login look you expect: http://svphoto.ca/proofs/2015103101/ ,
is using a template named 'login_template'

Re: login template

Forgot to update this.  Figured it out and ben has made the fix.
Basically, I have a proofing gallery created with CRG which clients use to select the images they want edited (this goes to a folder /proofs/ on my server).  I then edit those pictures and make them available in a new publisher instance using gallery (this goes to a folder /download/ on my server).  The problem was, both of the folder names that I created were the same (e.g., 2015101202).  So even though there were different publisher instances pointing to different folder paths, any changes in one (mainly gallery or CRG) would also affect the other at the server level.  It was reversible too, so if i changed the one in the publisher instance that points to download to a CRG created template instead of a gallery created template, they both would change.
Glad it we got to the bottom of it.  Thanks again for all your help.

Cheers,

Steve
