When a client logs in to a CRG gallery the CRG legend at the top of the screen appears vertically on the right side of screen and the Masthead and navigation are covered by a large black rectangle that occupies the top of the screen. Only way out then is to close the browser.

Do you mean the Status Bar?
I saw this on someone else's CRG too
Can you post a link?

Perhaps I should clarify a bit. I Have single column set up in the block. But what is appearing over the masthead appears to be the default legend from the double column set up in the CRG module in lightroom.

well that's just plain strange.
It's as if the list items in the status bar are missing some css or inheriting it from some other setting.
I've been trying to duplicate it on my end but I can't.
as a quick test, can you turn off Share Resources with TTG CE4 Pages.

I just set up my own test using with a CRG using "Shared Resources from TTG CE4 Pages" and got the same result.
So for now, disable that feature until Matt can update the css in Pages

No, nothing vital. It's mostly a time/resource saving feature. If some fonts or stylings seem different, you'll have to go back into the template to match up what you have in Pages. But if you already used the template hacking trick, then you should already have all those things.
I'm sure Matt will have it fixed soon. I think he's traveling right now though.
It was a perplexing problem until I saw that the status bar elements on my test page had different css applied to them than the same elements on your page. The css is from style-common.css, one of the files that gets shared when using shared resources.

I will move the status bar styling out of common resources, and into the stylesheet specific to CRG. I expect that should play nicely with shared resources.
