Multiple Carts Setup

Hi,

I have different galleries which have different products and sometimes they share the same products but have different pricing.

For example:

Gallery 1:
5x7 print      cost: 10
8x10 print    cost: 13
10x16 print  cost: 18
Photo Mug    cost: 15

Gallery 2:
8x10 print     cost: 10
Photo Mug     cost: 13
Canvas print  cost: 20
T shirt print   cost: 15

In the old tag cart I just used to duplicate an old cart rename it  and change the price.txt file to change products and pricing.

So how can I have do the same thing now with CE4?

Thanks,
Jinesh

Re: Multiple Carts Setup

Hi Jinesh, with the CE4 Cart, there's no need to create multiple cart installations to achieve this.  Pricing for a particular gallery (or even particular images within a gallery if using mixed pricing) are setup with pricing schemes.  Pricing schemes are made up of one or more products.

So for your setup, you would firstly create all of the products:

5x7 print
8x10 print
10x16 print
Photo Mug
Canvas print
T shirt print

You would then create two pricing schemes, say scheme_1 and scheme_2, assigning the previously-created products as needed to each scheme, and giving them prices e.g.:

scheme_1
5x7 print      cost: 10
8x10 print    cost: 13
10x16 print  cost: 18
Photo Mug    cost: 15

scheme_2
8x10 print     cost: 10
Photo Mug     cost: 13
Canvas print  cost: 20
T shirt print   cost: 15

Lastly, you would set the pricing scheme as needed for each gallery, e.g. Gallery 1 to use scheme_1.

I would further refine the prints into fewer products.  "Print 1" (for want of a better name) could be one product with a size attribute that had three options: 5x7, 8x10 and 10x16.  "Print 2" could be a product with a size attribute that only had one option: 8x10.
scheme_1 would then be setup to use the "Print 1" and Photo Mug products, scheme_2 to use "Print 2", Photo Mug, Canvas print and T shirt print.

Re: Multiple Carts Setup

Hey Ben,

Thanks for your help. I have done this now.

I have another problem, which I just realised, that the text on the email changes for different galleries sometimes. So what do I do for that? Since I am using the same cart for all.

Thanks,
Jinesh

Re: Multiple Carts Setup

Antagonising the mods is not helpful.  It is not possible to tailor the email text for different products.
