Hello,
new to CE4-Pages I just managed to setup a small test site. After doing the first trials and errors in a subfolder of my web server (Buffalo Terastation) I would like to delete the non working site files. So I tried to do so via SMB (Windows) and FTP. However, there are a few files in the ttg-be and galleries folder that I am not able to erase. I get the following error message
you require permission from unix apache ...
I also installed the trial site on a hosted Linux/Apache server using ftp, and I get the same error message.
I looked up the support pages from Buffalo but could not find a solution there. So I was wondering if anybody in the environment had similar experience and could help me to delete the obsolete files.
Thanks for any help
Thomas

I'm unfamiliar with the environment, but I would assume that you will need "root" permissions to delete assets not owned by your FTP user, as is usually the case.

Ok, yes, but do you get root access to your host server?
I used the same user id and thus permission to store the files on the host as when I tried to delete them again.

sounds like a question better addressed to your host.

Just a user with way too much time on his hands.
