Hi.
I never realised this before, although I've been using ttg since the start, but isn't there an overlap between the Client Response Gallery and a Cart Gallery? Obviously the latter is need if money comes into the game, but for me for example that is not the case and probably never will be. All I want to do is make pictures available online to certain (groups of) people, sometimes to ask their comments/suggestions etc., sometimes to let them download for free what they like, and sometimes both. Things like "clients" being able to download pictures in one zip-file seem very attractive, but I don't know if a Cart-application allows the client to send comments per picture, or whether Cart Always requires a financial transaction of some kind.
In other words: what is the difference between the two (apart from their current CE-version that is)? TTG is a lot, but not cheap for amateurs like me, so I want to make the right choice.

first, CRG is not compatible with the cart anyway, so you won't need to worry about pairing the two up.
You need to use TTG Gallery if you want people to be able to buy pictures through the TTG Cart.
If you just want to let them download images for free, CRG is capable of that.
If you want them to be able to download a zip file of all images, that's easy to do to, but it's all manual. Just zip of the folder of images, put it online, and provide a link to it in the text of the gallery.

Thank You Rod. I'm not sure what you mean by compatibility between Cart and CRG, other than the fact that CRG is not (yet?) available in CE4 (any idea when?). Or were you simply referring to the fact that Cart needs a separate Gallery app?
I guess the real question here is: what can CRG (CE3/CE4) do, that Cart can't? In terms of serving one clients and communicating with them that is. That is why I specifically asked whether Cart can be used without any financial transaction taking place.....

CRG is a gallery, Cart is a server side installation that will interface with TTG CE4 Gallery.
Cart is not something you install in Lightroom to display images. You use a gallery for that. And the Client Response Gallery has never been able to be used with the cart, that's not its purpose. If you read the product page for Cart you'll see that it requires CE4 Gallery.
For displaying images to clients and getting feedback, CRG is what you'd need.
That is why I specifically asked whether Cart can be used without any financial transaction taking place.....
Yes it can. Visitors to a CE4 Gallery can add images to the cart (they can't provide any feedback on the images though) and go through the purchase procedure. There is an option in Cart for transactionless checkout. Plus you can set prices to zero. If you just want you can use the cart as a client choice mechanism. But you'd have to buy CE4 Gallery and CE4 Cart. If you just need client feedback the you'd just need to buy CRG
I know Matt has the CE4 version of CRG planned for later this year, but I've yet to see any test builds so it's still a ways off.
