Really Confused / Side bar placement

I am trying to get the side bar on my CE4 home page so it is either to the left or right of the gallery on the home page not below it. I have seen sites here with the side bar on the side.

Thanks
Jim

Re: Really Confused / Side bar placement

Placement will depend on the width of the browser or the width of your Lightroom preview area. At the mobile breakpoint, the side bar will drop below the main content. Try closing your Lightroom side panels. My guess is that you will see the sidebar. If not, check what you've set for the mobile breakpoint.

Re: Really Confused / Side bar placement

I closed the LR side panels and sidebar is still below. My mobile breakpoint is set at 784. I changed it 500 and then 1000 and closed side panels and still below. What do you mean by width of browser? Thanks for quick reply.

Re: Really Confused / Side bar placement

the width of the browser (how wide it is in pixels) is what triggers the mobile breakpoint. If the browser width is 600px and you have a mobile breakpoint of 784px, then you'll get the mobile view: mobile navigation, sidebars placed below content, etc.

Re: Really Confused / Side bar placement

I deselected my images and the side panel moved to the side. I must have my image gallery image size too wide?

Re: Really Confused / Side bar placement

I think it has something to do about the size of home page images. Now I need to figure out how to make them smaller, I think ?

Re: Really Confused / Side bar placement

Thanks for your help. I think we got it. What I didn't tell you was that I was using the Gallery Slide show on my homepage and once I disabled it and replaced it with just a photo the side bar in now on the side.
Does normally using the Gallery Slide show affect the side bar location ?  I have no problem with just using a photo.

Not that I'm aware of. I've currently got that setup on my test site: http://ce4.barbeephoto.com/

Re: Really Confused / Side bar placement

The slideshow does not exist in the same block element as the columns. Layout looks like this:

[ GALLERY ]
[ COL1 ][ COL 2]
