Gallery 603b results
I installed the latest update today, and am very impressed with the new features in all modules and the quality of the large images created by the Magnific tool. Kudos Matt!!
After the software updates, I had an issue with index pages for galleries that contained a mix of landscape and portrait thumbnails, but found a workaround that will work for now. Hope there is a better solution.
Prior to installing Gallery 604b, index pages created by gallery and containing mixed portrait / landscape thumbnails were created properly. With 604b in place, row spacing caused thumbnails to overlap as shown here http://innkeepersgazette.com/wrdp/galleries/sprinter/ and here http://innkeepersgazette.com/wrdp/galleries/izabella/ (toward the bottom of the index page). The workaround was simple, and resulted in an index page that looks like this: http://innkeepersgazette.com/wrdp/galle … raduation/
Republishing a collection did not correct the thumbnail overlaps. Here is what I had to do to remove the overlaps from the last index page:
remove the portrait image from the publish services collection
update the gallery on the server
add the portrait image back to the collection
modify the sort sequence of the collection to put the images back in the order I wanted (image date & time) (nice feature Matt)
mark the entire collection to be republished
republish the collection
I'll correct the other mixed pages after you have had a chance to see them.
Matt, is there a better way for those with a large number of mixed-orientation collections to handle this?

Forgot to mention that the issue appears in larger screen sizes - laptops and up. The index pages look OK on my iPhone.

This should only happen if:
1) You're migrating galleries from CE3, and
2) Your new galleries have a smaller thumbnail size than did your CE3 gallery design.
In which case, the only thing you should have needed to do is re-publish your gallery's thumbnails.
The better thing would have been to design your CE4 gallery template around the size of your existing CE3 thumbnails.

egads - ROOKIE mistake. When setting up Publish Services for the CE4 version of the gallery I set it to push metadata without updating existing photos.
