hi.
i upgraded to BL 3, following the instructions (though i left my gallery files in the directory). now the entire site is blank (i.e. it is the default for BL3 with no content)
foolishly, i forgot to duplicate the old directory.
how do i get my site back?
the site is joliverbrooks.com

Was this from BL2 to BL3? or BL1 to BL3
If BL2 to BL3, there is no need to move or delete folders or files, just visit the Backlight Modules page.
If BL1 to BL3, then did you follow these instructions: https://backlight.me/docs/upgrading#upg … cklight-1x
In either case, if you overwrote the data/ folder without a backup, you'll need to start from scratch.
Does you host have any automatic back up feature? Many provide a basic backup for free.

from BL2 to BL3
oh. i followed the documentation at backlight.me and it said to copy the directory over. i guess that wasn't supposed to be for upgrades.
i have another site i can duplicate and tweek in a different directory. (www.notfromyourtribe.net), call it Site B.
what is the best way to essentially copy the directory of Site B to the directory of Site A and then update the albums (previously published from lightroom).
thanks

Copying the directory over is for new installations. Upgrading docs are here: https://backlight.me/docs/upgrading
Here's something on moving your development site: https://ttg-tips-and-tricks.barbeephoto … tion-site/

thanks. that fixed most of it.
after copying Site B into Site A directory, I tried to republish the Site A galleries from lightroom. i get an error Message:
Unable to perform action: getSetupForTemplate
The album could not be found for id 52215. Please edit this album and try again.
i tried editing the album and checked the API key (which checks ok). but i still get this error.

I imagine Lightroom is expecting an old template. Have you tried reassigning templates to the albums?

i tried changing templates and it throws the same error.
now it says the API key does not authenticate. i re-entered it in Admin and saved. and it (just a 4 digit number) and it will still not authenticate.
i think the lightroom publisher is still linking to site B. not site A where i copied site B's directory.
for example, the galleries listed are still Site B. (it won't let me delete them because it says there are albums that need to be deleted first.).
the url and path in the publisher is correct for Site A (joliverbrooks.com/backlight/publisher) but it the admin page shows the albums from notfromyourtribe.net (site B)

i think when i copied the site i want tweak (Site B) into the directory i deleted (Site A), the publisher in light room is still linked with Site B.
is there a way to re link the publisher somehow? i guess that's the issue.
