Metadata in the Theater module

I have some video clips under or over witch I would like to have a short description or caption showing.

Is this possible with Backlight or should I publish through LR?

Re: Metadata in the Theater module

You can use the album copy area.

I don't think videos are set up to display metadata. But perhaps you could use some of the new functions in phplugins to pull the metadata out of the image that you publish with the video (the image that the thumbnail is created from).

You could also use phplugins to display the album title and/or description on the album page.

There are examples in the phplugins-pangolin-sample.php file to refer to.

I don't know if you can use metadata tokens on an html5 video page. But if you can, then whether to publish through Backlight or Lightroom depends on what metadata you want to use. See the documentation:
tokens available using Lightroom: http://backlight.theturninggate.net/doc … ata_tokens
tokens available using Backlight: http://backlight.theturninggate.net/doc … _publisher
