can't export a template

I have just installed Backlight 2 in a subdomain so I can check that all is running fine and change my Okapis templates to Pangolin ones. After finishing  my first Pangolin template I tried to export it, but I get a message like:

http://agustinbolzan.com.ar/wayne/backl … e/25/view/ is temporality inactive or maybe was moved definitely to other address.

In fact, the browser moves to such address that is obviously non existent in the server!...there is no "designer" folder under backlight!

what is wrong?

Agustin

P.S. I see in my tree under Backlight only [custom], [data], [installer] and [modules]; however in my current Backlight 1 installation   I see [admin], [cart], [client-response], [custom], [data], [designer], [framework], [modules], [publisher] and [search]

There's nothing wrong with that. It's just how Backlight 2 works, there's no "publisher" folder or a few others either. From what I understand, it's all database driven so those urls, I believe, somehow refer to "stuff" in the database. (sorry to get so technical wink )
Matt and Ben can explain that better.

But to your problem, can you better describe the error message? What's the full text? Maybe a screen shot so Matt and Ben will have something more to go on?
How far do you get in the export process?

This is a Pangolin template, correct? If not, make sure you've also installed the Okapi modules into Backlight 2.

Re: can't export a template

sorry for the delay....some problems with internet here...
I went not too far...I just clicked on Export button and get a white screen with the message (sorry but it's in Spanish):

"No se puede acceder a este sitio webEs posible que la página web http://agustinbolzan.com.ar/wayne/backl … e/25/view/ esté temporalmente inactiva o que se haya trasladado definitivamente a otra dirección.
ERR_INVALID_RESPONSE "

This is a Pangolin template, I am moving everything from Okapi to Pangolin...

Backlight is currently installed in a subfolder of my domain...all the Backlight system seemingly works fine, the only problem appeared when trying to export  the template...to my English webpage (I had two backlight versions, one for Spanish and another for English), but now I am working with the possibility of BL 2 and installed both languages in the same site...great improvement!..

Agustin

P.D. I don't get how to include here the image of the screen, I think it would be the same...

Re: can't export a template

the error is occurring when you click the Export button on the Export Template page, correct?
You don't see the usual Save As box pop up?

If you can give a step by step that leads up to the error, that will give Matt more info to work with.
And consider posting guest updater credentials so someone can take a closer look.

Re: can't export a template

Yes,  and I don't see any Save As box there...

the step by step is very easy: I select a pangolin template from the list of templates and once in the VIEW TEMPLATE I see the buttons for : Back-Clone-Design-Edit-Properties-Export Template-Restore Defaults-Delete, and I click on "Export Template"...crash!

Respect  to Guest updater credentials....does it mean that I have to create a Guest under "users" with a username and password and send both to whom?...this forum?

yes, create a new user. I've outlined it here: http://community.theturninggate.net/vie … hp?id=8122 (may be slight interface differences between when I wrote this for BL1 and now)
You can just post to the forum. Other users, like Daniel, may see something I miss.
You can email them to me too if you like and when I get a chance I can take a look. I may not be able to solve the problem but I can do some preliminary testing to help Matt or Ben for whenever they get a chance to look.

Re: can't export a template

Thanks for sending the login info. I tried exporting a template from your site and I get the same error.

When I looked at the error page's source code I see this:

<div id="message" class="error error-handler">
<h1>Something went wrong</h1>
<p>Unexpected error: Call to undefined function mb_strlen() in TemplateEntity.php on line 392</p>
<p>Please report error at <a href="http://community.theturninggate.net">http://community.theturninggate.net</a></p>
</div>

I took a look around and noticed that you're running php version 5.6.40. And even though the Backlight requirements state php 5.4 or better, you might try updating to php 7.
