#101 CE4 Publisher » Search results posting broken links (images that no longer exist) » 2014-08-12 22:04:36

My search results are posting broken image files (images on pages that no longer exist) along with the good images that do exist. There are quite a few of these broken boxes and I'm wondering how to fix this.
Example when searching for 'eagle' http://kristenwestlake.net/search/?q=eagle

Judging by the larger and masonry looking thumbs of the broken linked results, it looks like the broken files may be from my old CE3 files that I've migrated.

I've been getting this in results for a few days now and have cleared my cache numerous times so it must be something I need to clear out in my files?

Thanks!

#102 CE4 Cart » none of my products show up when I click on the cart button » 2014-08-12 21:58:22

Hi,

The cart was working just fine until this morning when I clicked the cart button on one image and got this message,
No products are available for purchase
Please try again later, or contact the photographer if this problem persists.

Example: http://kristenwestlake.net/galleries/wi … single.php
try the cart and you will see

My products haven't changed and they worked previously. My template is still the same, called 'Gallery'.
I checked other images and all of them get this same message.

The only thing I can think of is that I was trying to add a package to my cart to test it (and wasn't yet able to get it to work). I couldn't get it to work as of yet, so I deleted it.

Nothing in the cart admin says anything is incomplete either, so not sure what is going on with products not syncing with the cart.

Thanks for your help!

#103 Re: CE4 Gallery » button for photos for download? » 2014-08-11 21:06:53

Thanks Fredy! Glad you like the site!

And I get those broken web fonts when I test on firefox as well. I don't have the ability to check with IE as I have macs.

That said .. Rod, is there anything I can do to remedy the broken web fonts from my end? .. if someone uses IE and the icons aren't there, are they unable to make a purchase (I'm assuming the cart symbol would be vacant).

Thanks!

Got it!

I had to just change the name of the download file to match the one that the large files were being put into and now I see the cloud .. smile

Hi Rod,

Yes, I just added that to the template I'm using .. maybe I'll create a new template and see if perhaps  its now just a cache issue... a few moments and I'll be back ..

#106 Re: CE4 Gallery » button for photos for download? » 2014-08-11 08:37:13

does it possibly have anything to do with it being an html gallery? .. I can't remember what Matthew said wouldn't work the same with html pages. ..

#107 Re: CE4 Gallery » button for photos for download? » 2014-08-11 08:33:04

Thanks Rod,

Still nothing happens .. yes, I used to have that little cloud with down arrow in CE3 and that is what I'm hoping to have. I clicked the image download as you suggested, I have the output settings cllicked on publish downloadable image renditions with my 3000px selected .. but in my new test gallery I still have no cloud with an arrow.

I have a test gallery up with a gallery template that should allow for a 3000 px photo for download. I use this type of gallery for editorial and magazine work that editors download. The file is inside the test folder but there is no download  button that I can see.
http://www.kristenwestlake.net/galleries/download-test/

How might I enable a download button? On  the CE3 gallery there was a little download button on the lower right corner of the thumbnail but I don't see any option for this in the gallery.

Thanks for your help smile

#109 Re: CE4 Publisher » password protection question » 2014-08-10 09:15:56

Hi Ben,

You are right, passwords weren't checked in the web module for that template. My mistake .. sorry for my confusion and thank you for your help!

#110 Re: CE4 Publisher » password protection question » 2014-08-10 03:47:41

Hi Ben,

That worked at first but then although the gallery showed as locked on the auto index, when I clicked on it it didn't ask me for a password. I stuck the link into firefox as well after clearing cache and still it didn't require a username or a password - just went straight into the album.

So I went back into lightroom and put in another template and switched it back to my password template, .. and now it won't allow me to add a password again.

The gallery I am testing this with is : http://kristenwestlake.net/Collections/ … /classics/

Thanks Ben!

#111 Re: CE4 Cart » digital download for purchase question » 2014-08-10 03:34:12

Thank you Matt,

I am looking for the feature in my cart settings but am not finding the 'upload later' feature. I have the newest cart.

Is it actually 'Enable Offline Digital Purchases'?     and I have that set as 'yes'

If that is the case will someone be able to purchase a digital download and then I can upload it after they purchase?

Thank you!

Another question that doesn't seem to be rectified in the gallery template for use in publisher.

How do I allow for a password protected gallery? I've clicked 'enable password protection' in the gallery web module and uploaded it but publisher still would not give me any clickable boxes in order to create a published album as password protected. .. Is it possible that publishing my galleries with the  html gallery option is rendering this option as unavailable? ..

Thanks!

When I set my Image downloads for sale to Publish Downloadable Image Renditions for sale, publisher uploaded high res images for all the images in the gallery, even though I only set one as available for download purchase. .. this takes up far too much room on my server.

So I unclicked this option in the gallery and simply kept the one image as set in my cart for download purchase, but publisher then did not upload the one high res image. Seems its all or nothing.

What should I click in my gallery template settings so that publisher will publish only the high res files that I want to sell as high res images?

My sample gallery is here : http://kristenwestlake.net/visit_galler … e-gallery/
and the only image I have tried to make available for download purchase is the deer with snow on her head.

thank you!

#114 Re: CE4 Pages » How to control the width of the Galleria Slideshow » 2014-08-09 08:02:58

Ah ha! Thanks for letting me know Rod! In the meantime, good luck with the new design ~ looking forward to seeing what you will come up with!

Rod,

Along a somewhat similar thought .. I've figured out how to make my slideshow smaller, but am wondering how you have managed to get your verbiage to the right side of your slideshow?
I've tried to use the sidebar for verbiage and making it to right, but it still shows up under my slideshow. .. I've changed it back for the time being to the full slideshow but I really like how you've done yours.

Thanks!

#116 Re: CE4 Cart » pressing 'change' in the checkout is problematic » 2014-08-02 23:21:08

Thank you Ben smile

Looks like Rod has the issues with the wrong products and I have the issue with the no products, so we will both look forward to the update ~ thank you!

I can certainly see how useful the change button can be though when its working correctly!

Hi,

I've added two products for purchase in my test gallery cart (http://kristenwestlake.net/sandhill/test/). If I click the remove box for one and then click 'update cart' at the bottom of the page, everything works beautifully.

If, however, I click the change button instead, underneath the options area in the cart, I get a blank black page with a white message inside staying, "No products are available for purchase
Please try again later, or contact the photographer if this problem persists."
Then if I click the box to close that message it takes me to a page which shows the product. I can update item or cancel. If I update item it says once again, "No products are available for purchase
Please try again later, or contact the photographer if this problem persists." If I press cancel it takes me back to the check out page.

How do I get the 'change' button to perform as it should (or can I remove it, as its confusing)? I assume it should do the same thing as the update cart button, or is it supposed to allow a buyer to change the options (ie add a frame) to the image they are buying?

Thank you for your help!

#121 Re: CE4 Cart » invalid arguments in cart » 2014-07-31 08:03:31

Do I need to add the gallery template inside the cart folder somewhere? Maybe I'm just missing something. I have the template inside the template/gallery area but I seem to recall in CE3 that it was necessary to add that to the cart too? .. If that is the case, where inside the cart folder would it go?

#122 Re: CE4 Cart » invalid arguments in cart » 2014-07-31 07:58:18

I've gone in and changed the pricing scheme to the actual scheme, then also to default, but I still have the same problem .. and tried another pricing scheme for just prints but still the same problem .. sad
Very stumped.
I think at this point I am at the 'eyes glossed over" phase and completely confused! LOL

#123 Re: CE4 Cart » invalid arguments in cart » 2014-07-31 07:50:02

HI Rod,

I always used 'metadata' in my gallery on export which made it take whatever category was set within the gallery.
I am however, confused with the mixed pricing so maybe I am doing something wrong?
The pricing scheme for all of these happens to be called 'stock_people' and I have that set in the 'category' within lightroom. In CE3 if I set the cart pricing profile to 'metadata' it would take the scheme from the category in lightroom.

Does CE4 work differently?

Hi,

I am trying to get my cart to work .. I can add things to my cart but discount codes don't work and I have no button to go from the cart to the checkout. I've added all of my paypal api info and such .. but here is what I get at the bottom of my cart page: What am I doing wrong? Thanks!
