That sounds like it was a cache issue. Try this next time:

Hey guys,
I'm not sure if you are aware of this, and I don't really think it is a problem, but I thought I should at least mention it. I recently went back and renamed my photos from _DSC**** to something unique. I republished all my images, and everything worked fine. All the new images were there, and working under the new names. I was looking in one of my galleries' folders for something, and I realized that while publisher deleted all the old images from the /photos/ folder, the old thumbnails all still exist in the /thumbnails/ and /thumbnails-for-mobile/ folders. The same is true of my publisher managed home page; the images I have deleted from the gallery still have thumbnails in the folders. Again, I'm not sure if this is intentional, or just a bug, but I was curious about it.
Thanks, Kyle
Not a problem!
That sounds like a cache issue. If it happens again, try clearing your browser's cache.
Excellent! Thanks Matt.
Thanks! I didn't really consider using Publisher to manage the pages. I just set that up and it fixed the formatting issues. I'm not sure what the cause was with the original pages, but it is gone now.
True enough. I'm more curious about what the cause is.
That's what it looks like to me as well. But it does. Or, I should say, it was exported with a 24 px top margin, and 24 px left/right padding.
Ah, I didn't realize it had to be hosted.
I can get the correct page by going to the actual error page: eg. kylelucy.com/error/403/index.php
Also, I have screenshots, but, and I'm almost embarrassed to ask, how do I add them to a post?
An update: it isn't every time. Sometimes it appears correctly. I can't find a pattern for when it works and when it doesn't.
I implemented custom error pages using .htaccess, and they appear to have some formatting errors. See:
http://kylelucy.com/fragments/ (for 403)
http://kylelucy.com/asdfasdf/ (for 404)
The text is way up in the top left corner. Any ideas on what is going on?
Thanks, Kyle
Thank you!
Thank you both! As for the Firefox issue, that sounds like a cache issue to me. But thanks for letting me know all the same.
Michael, glad to help. Your site looks good from here as well. The Android home screen icon worked well, as did the favicon on all the devices I tested.
This site does compile the favicon.ico same as IconSlate, but it also adds all the other icons. Windows users could use it and just use the favicon.ico if they wanted to.
Thanks! I will be switching to Masonry when it is release, but until then, I really like Iconic.
I just had a new logo and identity plate designed, and with that, I redesigned my site. The structure of the site is the same, but I have redesigned and polished up all the colors, fonts, and little touches like drop shadows. Overall, it has a very different, and much more polished feel than my original did. I like the new design a lot more, but I would love to hear feedback, whether positive or negative. Thanks!
Hi all,
I was reworking my favicon recently, and I stumbled upon this site:
http://realfavicongenerator.net/
The FAQs were really helpful, as was the 'Check your favicon' feature. As it points out, with all the devices currently out there, you need more than just a favicon.ico if you want your icon to show up properly on all the devices.
I ended up using the site to generate all my favicons and icons. I disabled the favicon and apple touch icon through TTG and put all the files it gave my on my site. Using phplugins, I added the code it gave me to the <head> section of my site. It worked brilliantly, and my icon showed up well on all the devices I could scrounge up to test it on.
I thought that some of you might be interested, so I decided to share this with the community. Have fun!
Using Notepad++ fixed the problem. Thank you so much!
Any idea how I could check that?
Notepad on Windows 7.
Actually, it's not even deleting the lines. As far as I can tell, if I modify the file in any way, even deleting something, saving the file, putting the deleted line right back, and saving the file again, it breaks my contact page. I tried putting the two lines back, and it still didn't work, but then I re-uploaded the stock file (which, as far as I can tell, has identical contents) and the contact page worked again.
