I'll bet a clever programmer (which I am not) could present a different 404 page display by album just by HTML coding in the "Page not Found Message" and perhaps making a few other CSS/PHP adjustments. I suspect the effort required to do this would exceed it's worth.
I set up a fake page, explained in this previous post:

Hi, fantastic idea but where would I find the Vegas Strip pano settings?
Paul...
First, you need to have a Pangolin Theater album to work on. If necessary, start a new album. Then select "Filmstrip" in the "Presentation Type" section. The controls should appear.
Rod, I agree. Attempting to improve the presentation for smaller screens, I tried some smaller slice size panos. But they brought on their own problems of shaky presentation and unwanted gaps without improving small screen display. Here are some examples you can see for yourself. These are the Columbo panos with slices halved to 480, 240, and 120 pixels, as indicated in the URL:
http://www.michaelrichardsphotography.c … -pano-480/
http://www.michaelrichardsphotography.c … -pano-240/
http://www.michaelrichardsphotography.c … -pano-120/
If there is a solution, I'd like to know, but for now will keep slice size the same as image width.
I think that I have it!
Check out this link !!!

Thanks to Rod and Michael Richards
Nicely done. I notice the images load very slowly. Did you reduce them to the actual display size before posting? Since you are using them as buttons, no need to publish full size images.
This may be categorized incorrectly, but it applies to the 'image as a link' and 'panorama' threads.
As part of the panorama solution using slice in Photoshop and then Theater in Backlight, there are bunches of slices of each panorama image in the photos folder of the panorama galleries. If I perform a SEARCH looking for the term pano (all of the panorama images are labeled with a pano suffix by Photoshop), I not only get the real panoramic images, but also the slices (not all of them, for some reason) but a lot of them. Is there any way to filter a folder (or folders) to be ignored by SEARCH?
On a related note, is there a way to customize the SEARCH page using the Backlight tool ?
Thanks
Herschel
When you are doing the slicing in Photoshop, you can set the output naming of the slices to avoid the accidental slice selection problem. When in the "Save for Web" dialog, click on the little menu icon in the upper right and select "Edit Output Settings". Then select "Slices" and establish the slice naming convention you like. I found it useful to set the default naming to include at least 2 digits (e.g. 01, 02, 03....10, 11...) in case there are 10 or more slices. This allows sorting by filename to keep the slices in the correct order. If you have all the slices selected (shift-click on every slice to make sure) when you set things up, all the slices should be consistently named. Then the setup can be saved for future use.
richam...
I'll try that also.
I get a delay when I pan... is there a setting that I should change? Here is a link

Thanks
-HerschelUpdate... I reduced the height and it appears to be working now.
I think you got it. I didn't mention it, but reduced the height of the panorama in Photoshop to exactly 640 pixels before slicing; the same as the image renditions specification in the template. I also set up the template image width to 960; the same as the slice width. This seemed to make things neater and perhaps faster to set up and display.
FWIW, I set up a panorama display template using Vegas Strip; no special php, css, html or additional coding required. Here's are a couple of examples:
http://www.michaelrichardsphotography.c … umbo-pano/
http://www.michaelrichardsphotography.c … balu-pano/
I used Vegas Strip pano settings: Gutters, Border, Slide Padding and Slide Margins to 0.
Then precision sliced the pano in Photoshop -- easier than it sounds and you can set up a user action if you want. I used Photoshop CC on the Mac; your setup could be a little different. This is the workflow: Open the pano in Photoshop, select the slice tool (c), and double click on the image. This opens a popup menu, and select "Divide Slice". In this menu, check "Divide Vertically Into" and set it at the desired slice width (I used 960 pixels; use other value to suit your presentation). Click OK. The slice guide lines should be visible at this point. Select File>Export>Save for Web (Legacy) to open save dialog. Size "fit in view" on the lower left to make all slices visible in the window, and select them all (shift-click will do) the first time you do this. Then set up your desired Presets (e.g. jpeg, quality, filenames, etc.) in the upper right of the dialog box. Once you get it working as you want, you can save this as a preset for future use and you won't have to select all the slices again.
The slices will be where you instructed PS to save them. Set up an album in LR with the Vegas Strip Pano template, add the slices and publish.
Nice work.
Thanks. Still working on it, but may get to understand this system yet.
Gave up with using the .htaccess file that I was using on CE4 as an error trap, but still wanted to get a 404 error page that wouldn't scare away viewers who might have mis-typed something. So, built an ersatz page within Backlight>Settings. You can see the result here: http://www.michaelrichardsphotography.com/xxxx/.
I picked my normal page as "Page not Found Template", and built the fake page within "Page not Found Message". Here's the message input:
<h2><center><font color=red>Error 404 - not found.</font> Oops, you made a wrong turn somewhere</center></h2>
<u>[<center>**Return Home**](/)</u> <u>[**Complaint Department**</center>](http://www.michaelrichardsphotography.com/contact/)</u>

Seems to have solved the problem for me.
I converted from CE4 and set up a custom thumbnails album per the tips and tricks. I sorted the images in LR according to file name and published. Even deleted and re-published the images, but the file names still come up in the cover image popup menu in a random order. Is there a way to get the popup menu to sort by file name? I have 43 custom thumbnails, and it's a headache to select the one I'm looking for.
Doh! Missed the "Album Order" option somehow. Thanks, and sorry to bother you with this request.
Thanks. I was having problems sorting the album set template grid, not just the Galleries page, which I already set up for a slug sort. Can a slug sort be set up for album sets, too? Had similar problems with iconic, not just masonry. They seem to want to sort on Title, while I want a sort of my choosing, which could be done with prefix to the slugs a,b,c,d, etc., for example.
I like the masonry style thumbnail grid, but would like to sort it differently. It seems to sort thumbnails according to Title. I would prefer to make my own sort using slug. Is there a way to do this?
Understood. Thanks.
In CE4, I used a menu item dot-dot-slash (../) to go up one level, and it worked fine. Now in Backlight, the same ../ always returns to the top (home) level, not up one level. Tried several alternates, but didn't work. How can I program my menu to provide up just one level?
That just looks like a rendering glitch in the browser.
Matt, You're right on! It's a Safari problem as far as I can see. Did not have the problem with Firefox, Opera, or Chrome, although they apparently use ogv files, not mp4. Thinking it might be an EasyHTML5Video problem, I uploaded the original Lr slideshow mp4 file, which was 125 mb versus the EasyHTML5Video version, which was 19 mb. Safari had the same problem with the original, so I restored the 19 mb version. Anyone interested can check out the issue with other systems and browsers:

I've been having a devil of a time figuring this out. Saved Lr slideshows as 640x480 videos. No margins or padding in Lr Slideshow module. In Stage HTML video template, tried several options with mantle width and core width, auto and fixed. No help. I always get a thin line to the left of the video, as shown in this screen capture. Is this normal? Any ideas?
Matt, Many thanks. I've been having way too much fun with 2020 and morph. Have tried it for normal exposure vs High Dynamic Range (HDR) and color vs BW comparisons. If you want to check some examples:

HDR Morph: http://www.michaelrichardsphotography.c … les-morph/

Matt, A small item that may be worth mentioning. I took a look at Reel: Animate, and found out that if "Display Captions" is checked, the caption of only the first image displays. Maybe this is intentional...
I'm sure this is elementary to you experienced coders, but I did some research into how to display font awesome in Chen Luo's MOU program. Chen advised that I use the following snippet:
<link href="http://maxcdn.bootstrapcdn.com/font-awesome/4.2.0/css/font-awesome.min.css" rel="stylesheet">
I just added the snipped to the bottom of my MOU documents, and bingo! The entire text with font awesome appears as it would when finally uploaded to my site. Of course, I copy all the markdown text except this snippet to the "page content" in the publisher album.
If anyone knows a better way to display Font Awesome in MOU, please let me know.
Daniel, Absolutely brilliant! Thanks.
Matt, good suggestion. I joined github and reported the problem.
Matt, I tried with the Parsedown on line Demo, and the problem is obvious:
Input:
Output:
In the first case, the "\" is taken as the end of the URL, and the ")" is moved outside the generated HTML. In the second one, again the ")" is again moved outside the HTML. The third one is correct and it works.
Matt, The second one doesn't work with or without the escape backslash. Apparently the Parsedown engine picks up the embedded ")" as a Markdown termination. I've even tried escape on both parentheses, same problem. It appears that Parsedown is the problem, since it works with MOU.
Matt, there's another solution - reference link. They are delineated by spaces and/or return.
These are the actual markdown lines from fragments:
* [Gardelegen War Crime Wikipedia](http://tinyurl.com/my6kala)
* [Gardelegen War Crime Wikipedia](http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gardelegen_(war_crime\))
* [Gardelegen War Crime Wikipedia] [1]
[1]: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gardelegen_(war_crime)
Again, here's the URL if you want to check it: http://www.michaelrichardsphotography.com/services.php
The third link works just fine. It seems this is a better solution since I like to keep everything in markdown for readability purposes. The tinyURL depends on their website and may cause processing time or other future problems.
