I have looked into it a bit. Matts dynamic masthead seems to take over the header entirely. But I have changed the phplugins to insert the title. I guess if I implement Matsts solution the code will never get there. Also there is a reference to an img in that code and also the size.
It all gets to complicated for me as I do not know how the CSS, php and phplugins files interact. I have checked, but I do not know how to 'override' the image in this code through css. Or could I fill 'profile image clearfix' in the CSS?
if ((G_STYLE == 'CE4-GALLERY' || G_STYLE == 'CE4-AUTOINDEX' || G_STYLE == 'CE4-MOBILE')AND (G_PATH != 'GALLERIES'))

What I did noticed that somewhere in all the code the header image gets 'shrunk' (below 360) and the H1 gets smaller..
Thxs for this info
I experimented a bit with the thumbnail size. ì thought I had something, Made the width 320 and got three rows. But it turned out I did not republish the inmages, and somehow that album had thumbs of 240 (Do not know why, published with standard album or something like that a forst time).
I could do 4 rows and get three on the Ipad. However, the masonry actually enlarges thumbnails, so you get rotten ones vertically. So I'll stick with my results. Not really what I'd expect but the result is ok I think. I can always experiment some more later, that is the beauty of the template concept..
When updating the file I left the second staement with 'Ipad' intact. Then you get the mobile slideshow... Looks better...
The performance seems a bit slow, but I think it is the upload. If you turn the ipad the Javascript has to recalculate, That seems pretty fast.
On to the next problem :-)
My thumbnails are 368 px. But the width of the Ipad retina is 2048... So at least 5 thumbnails should fit... With the ipad vertical the width is 1536, so 4 should fit...
You are right about the filenames. For Google I put the title in the filenames, replacing blanks with -. That is done on export, so my filenames in the catalog are intact. I still plan have to through the descriptions as some are also blank. maybe I'll use another field for the filenames (location-sublocation). Lightroom allows parenthesis etc in the filename exports (some other characters such as / are not allowed. It is a setting even. But i'll look into that. It is a setting in the publisher instance, so easily changed.
Thxs I'll check it out...
I guess you are right. I can offcourse enlarge that. But why does the thumbnail grid far exceeds the limits I gave for the thumbnails ? And has two columns and not three ?
Bit of a strange behaviour.
I have an ipad retina. 2048 X 1536...
I am referring to the image you'll get if you click on the thumbnail. It is significally smaller then the tumbnail. The latter is (in pixels) much bigger then on my desktop....
Aha
Txs
I have tried that. It seems to work. It is indeed a bit slower, but I'll have to time that. Something else. On my ipad i get a 2 rowed masonry with huge thumbnails. While the ipad has more pixels then a laptop. When you click on a thumbnail an image appears that is smaller than the thumbnail (if vertical/ipad horizontal). So I guess the masonry is not made from thumbs but from the full images...
http://test.theomolenaar.nl/destination … the-south/
And how to get the image larger?
I guess I'll have to do a little of everything maybe,
What I do not understand is that the logo suddenly gets a lot smaller when the width reaches a certain amount (like 350 or so. Until then a the logo remains the same but the title dissapears starting at approx 600 The contents get scaled but the title seems to stay to the right of the screen (so invisible).
A media query sounds like a good idea. Found that in Mats documantation you mentioned above. So I can change the size there. Could I also set the subheader to blanks ? Wil lbe a tough job and a lot of experimenting for someone who does not know any code (newer then Cobol) But I'll give it a try
Thxs
Thnxs for the suggestions
With your help I made the tekst in the heading the album name. That is essential. I do not want my name or my site's name as header. I want the album name as H1 and in the header. Because it is so important for SEO. And for the visual side. In my old site I had to make a identity plate per album. That was a lot of work. It also does not work with publisher. I could try the dynmic masthead but only in combination with the profile layout.
I could leave out the subtitle and make the text a bit smaller, but that does not help much. Also I do not very much want to change the logo.
The funny thing is that when you make the layout very narrow the lettering suddenly gets smaller. It would be nice if that happened in more steps or earlier.
Because none of the options seem workable for what I want... Losing publisher and making multiple identityplates per album, Changing the H1 into something else. Smaller font might help but is visually not appealing.
Is there a way to dynamically change the H1 size in the CSS ????
I put it in this forum, but it is the same in autoindex or galleries.
The text that is in the header spreads outside the header area for mobile (or small screens). You can see the subtitle below the menu's. And even the title if I make the screen small enough. Only if the Screen is very small (near to the minimum side on my PC) the fonts are changed and it fits again...
Both Chrome and Firefox.
I was looking for that.
With publisher it seems to work differently because the content of index.php is:
<?php
require_once('lib.php');
route(array('action' => 'gallery', 'p1' => '', 'p2' => 'index', 'p3' => isset($_GET['page'])?$_GET['page']:''))
?>
I modified the index html in the template:
http://test.theomolenaar.nl/ttg-be/temp … /index.php
Removed Ipad from the statement. The word Ipad is not to be found. But I still get the mobile layout..... No masonry
I searched to find if and where I could do something in Phplugins or elsewhere. Did not find it. But found this.
http://community.theturninggate.net/top … ipad-mini/
So it did work wuth CE3....
You can edit 4K video now with an ipad,,, It definetly has more processing power then most netbooks and probabely even older computrers.
And the ipad does not get the mobile menu but a classic gallery, that looks hideous, since I now mixed landscape and portrait, 1:1, 3:4, 2:3 etc. It used to ba a pain in the ass to get a good looking arrangement. Masonry solves this.
And future Ipads will be faster and faster... So I think masonry would be great..
Yes but an ipad is a different kind of mobile device than a phone. An Ipad pro has a 12.9 inch screen with 2732x2048. And a 'normal; Ipad of 2048 x 1536. That is much more than the screen of my netbook. Even then my notebook.
Should the distinction not be a pocketable device vs non pocketable? I remember that in earlier versions of CE I could choose wether an ipad would be considered mobile.
I would very much like to have masonry on Ipads...
I meant that I did not want to put an image in the page copy as I had done in the China album set as an experiment.
I have used the setting 'Custom' on all album sets and then put an image in the thumbnails folder (custom thumbnails folder on albums). I liked the option of putting more than one image in there so they would change. But that leads to the incomplete OGP you mentioned.
I do not want to use any of the pictures from the albums because there rarely is a representative image that is square as needed for the layout in the index. Also facebook then applies another (16:9?) crop for the picture that is shared, what could result in odd looking cropping. I have experimented with that.
On existing album sets I can choose thumbnail.jpg in the settings (the one I uploaded). If I do this the OGP goes to....photos/thumbnail.jpg. Only the photo directory is not created. So I'd have to upload that directory separately. A bit of extra work but for album sets no problem.
That leaves the albums.
I tried the same. But with me FB filled the png that is the identity plate.
I dis the same with a published album. It had the same coding. And a random image from that album is taken (not what I would like).
I think itrt wouk be better if the generateed OGP information would point to a specific image. Now it points to a directory and even ik you fill an image in that direrctory nothing happens...
The items are not referring to a specific image because I do not want to place a link to a single image on facebook but a link to a complete album set. Or a complete album.
I have not written the OGP information. It is generated by the CE4 script. Is there a way to influence it. ? In publisher, cause that is where the albums come from.
The OCP information points to a directory /photos/ That directory is not generated by Publisher for album sets. CE4 autoindex creates a directory photos if you export when photo's are selected. But none if you do not select photos (as I do when using it as a template) so there is a bit of an inconsistency. A direcory thumbnails is generatedby publisher for thumbnails needed for the autoindex.
However if I make a directory photos, place a picture in that and fetch new scrape information (I tried that with the /asia/india/ album set) the image is not found. So I guess pointing to the thumbnails directory would not work.
The womans face is a picture I put in the description after Rod's suggestion. It did not help then but with the new scrape Facebook gets it I guess. But I do prefer not to place images in my album sets. So it would be nice if the OCP for album sets would point to thumbnail.jpg or FB.jpg in the thumbnails directory.
Yes the facebook OGP is activated. It works also. But no image. Also not on album sets where I put an image thumbnail.jpg in the root.
Ok Thxs
I should have thought of that but I overlooked. Thinking of some syntax error thing. I guess it is because I have the blog and galleries bundle that the phplugins folder is not on the root level...
I could write a similar post for the gallery forum, but I'll hold that for now. The sometimes (if pinterest selects it first) the first image is shown in the facebook pop-up. Otherwise a random image is selected (but always after clicking on the pinterst share button).
I saw an older post, but there seemed to be no conclusion.
If I want to share an album set on Facebook there is no picture.
http://test.theomolenaar.nl/destinations/asia/china/
I added the thumbnail to the root. Did not help. I googled and fout that there should be some coding in the heading of the page. But I cannot figure out where in the coding this should be set....
http://stackoverflow.com/questions/1138 … ing-my-url
Sometimes (not every time) when i do a facebook share and then a pinterest share and then again a facebook share my header -identityplate.png- is in the facebook pop up.
I have edited my phplugins for:
- Menu through wordpress
- The album name in the header
- activating the custom.css
The first two things work fine
The last one does not work (my background is not red). I have used the wordpress theme. Maybe that affects the css?
Custom css:
http://test.theomolenaar.nl/galleries/p … custom.css
My phplugins is here:
http://test.theomolenaar.nl/galleries/p … lugins.php
I have no clue why it does not work. Or are things different with the wordpress theme?

That was it. Sorry for the trouble
Retrieving the server log I found out that I have used all my webspace ! If saving an album also means doing something in the hosting I think that could be the problem... Yesterdays logs show a lot todays is almost empty..
I upgraded the hosting. When that is done i'll try again... If the problem still occurs, ill send the logs to Ben.
