The image used is the image that is selected for the page via the Image ID slider in the Color Palette control pane.

Just don't bother. Search engines don't use them for anything at all. Though the description is filled using the Album Description field during gallery setup either in LR or Publisher.

Glad to hear things seem to be back to normal.

#3155 Re: General » Questions before purchasing » 2013-07-08 12:14:45

I don't actually think the learning curve is very hard. There's one tutorial you should read as a new user that will walk you through all of the necessary concepts. The problem with reading through the forum is that the forum largely exists to help users who have problems, or who are attempting to make personalized customizations outside of the supported feature set.

There are lots of users that we literally never hear from, because they use the plugins and setup their site without any problems, without delving into external customizations, so never need to ask questions here.

So the forum tends to be a little lopsided.

The plugins are extremely flexible, provides many options and features, and for most users that is enough. Some people like to extend things further, and we offer an extensibility framework for those users. But they are the exception, rather than the rule. You can pretty easily setup an attractive, functional website with zero coding necessary.

That one recommended tutorial is here:
http://ce3wiki.theturninggate.net/doku. … publishing

Here is an example gallery:
http://ce3.theturninggate.net/galleries … slideshow/

The titles under the thumbnails are pulled from IPTC data; you have two rows to work with here and may output any metadata (IPTC or EXIF). Looking at the large images, you can also see two additional metadata slots, one above the image (the heading) and one below (the caption).

And the large view thumbnails are disabled in this demonstration, but there is an option to display a horizontal row of thumbnails at the bottom of the screen while viewing large images.

Fewer files in the filmstrip, or work with a filmstrip of JPGs instead of RAW files (then substitute the RAWs back in for export as a final step).

I don't use any such service. I spend too much time online as it is. The last thing I need is another thing to keep tabs on. =P

#3159 Re: General » Bluehost issues » 2013-06-30 14:27:58

Don't know whether things are "back to normal" yet for your sites, Dougc, but I just had a click on the both of them and they came right up. If you're still experiencing issues, it may be worth clearing your browser cache, quitting and restarting the browser to give the page loads a fresh slate.

#3160 Re: General » Lightroom 5 Bugg » 2013-06-28 20:08:22

I've personally had no issues with LR5, and I've been using it for months.

If you need to migrate publish collections between catalogs, look for the Lightroom Voyager plugin. Should come up in a Google search.

#3161 Re: General » Image Theft » 2013-06-28 14:27:48

Because a website should never interfere with the functionality of the web-browser.

#3162 Re: General » Bluehost issues » 2013-06-28 14:26:32

I have personally had no issues whatsoever with Bluehost. http://campagnapictures.com/ has been running without issue, and with no downtime that I am aware of. The problem you describe with the user sounds to me like an isolated incident over which no host could have control, and which coincidentally has occurred on a Bluehost server. I'm sure they will take whatever measures they can to ensure that the problem does not happen again, or that if it does happen again that the impact of such an incident will be as minimal as possible. The only way to get away from such things would be to abandoned shared hosting platforms altogether. But then you'd be paying a lot more for a dedicated server. The Turning Gate runs on MediaTemple's "DV" service (dedicated virtual server) for $50/month. It's great, but I pay more for two months of hosting with MediaTemple than I pay for a year of hosting with Bluehost for my Campagna Pictures website.

Setting up this thread for Fotomoto users to continue talks in a public space which is not administered by liveBooks, Inc., subsequent to conversations at https://getsatisfaction.com/fotomoto/to … site_down.

We may or may not end up needing this thread, but I think it important that we establish a secondary rallying point as a precaution, just incase liveBooks shuts down conversation on the other board.

#3166 Re: General » Analytics by piwik ? » 2013-06-24 15:33:23

No simple solution for that, I'm afraid. If you wanted to trigger tracking on Photoswipe initialization, then you would need to dig into Photoswipe's callback events. http://photoswipe.com for information on that, but I'm afraid it's beyond the scope of support for the plugins.

#3167 Re: General » CE3 Web Publishing Bundle for beginners » 2013-06-15 12:33:51

What am I doing wrong?

Not giving us a link.

In general, if you want things higher on the page, then reduce the Margin-top and Margin-bottom sliders for the block, the grid, etc.

#3168 Re: General » Fotomoto's demise to a Layman... » 2013-06-12 17:37:26

Fotomoto is an integrated e-commerce system for image sales that we have supported via our plugins for four years. If you were selling images through Fotomoto, then I'm sure you would know. If you are not using Fotomoto to sell images, then the news does not affect you. Don't worry about it.

#3169 Re: General » Fotomoto out of business? » 2013-06-12 15:38:11

we supported our own shopping cart, and FoxyCart. FoxyCart is a generic shopping cart service and not a fulfillment option, though, so they offer nothing over our own system.

#3171 Re: Announcements & Information » Download Link » 2013-06-12 12:47:01

My records show downloads on the order. I presume you've received your message containing access to the downloads.

#3172 Re: General » Fotomoto out of business? » 2013-06-12 11:50:38

I have been actively investigating the matter this week and I will very likely be making a statement about Fotomoto soon.

To answer your questions, though, there is no way that I can intercept orders from Fotomoto galleries and have them redirected to you. I am not aware of any other services equivalent to what Fotomoto was doing.

#3173 Re: Announcements & Information » Download & instal CE3 » 2013-06-02 13:10:38

If you follow the instructions to install, then the plugins will work:
http://ce3wiki.theturninggate.net/doku. … stallation

Because you double-clicked first, you may need to search your system for bad copies of the plugins that may be interfering with the installation.

#3174 Re: General » Bluehost » 2013-05-31 23:53:08

The standard package will suffice. And yes, if you use the TTG link, it helps me out. Thanks!

#3175 Re: General » damn ISP » 2013-05-31 23:51:49

Thanks, Rich! So glad to hear we've inspired you. Careful with Twitter Bootstrap, though; I had a play with it going into CE3 development and decided it wasn't the framework for me, so built the CE3 framework from scratch. If you start trying to rope parts of Twitter Bootstrap into it, I can't make any guarantees about the continued fidelity of the space-time continuum. Frankly, I think the thing is overrated. That's just me, though.
