#3026 Re: CE4 Cart » Is PayPal Cart function secure? » 2014-08-04 23:48:46

Ben

The payment amount is automatically carried over to PayPal.

#3027 Re: CE4 Cart » Is PayPal Cart function secure? » 2014-08-04 22:41:37

Ben

Hi Ken, the PayPal checkout is secure.  The flow is:

1. Customer clicks on PayPal button on your site
2. Customer enters payment details on paypal.com using PayPal's SSL.
3. Customer is returned to your site for final confirmation
4. Upon confirming, your site makes a final checkout call to PayPal, and the transaction proceeds.  This is simply a 'go-ahead' call on the agreed transaction in step 2.
5. PayPal redirects back to your site to show the 'thank you' page.

Steps 4 and 5 occur behind-the-scenes. The customer isn't taken to PayPal's pages for these steps.

At no point are credit card details entered or stored on your site, and at no point are details transmitted over an insecure connection.

You can try the flow out with test credentials.  The instructions are available here:

#3028 Re: CE4 Cart » Why does link appear after submitting order? » 2014-08-04 13:30:11

Ben

This is a known issue.  A fix will be out soon.

#3029 Re: CE4 Cart » Changing item in cart results in error message » 2014-08-04 13:29:37

Ben

Yes, the problem only happens on non-'default' items.  We'll have a fix soon.

#3030 Re: CE4 Publisher » error with ttg-be » 2014-08-04 09:44:42

Ben

I see that your modules now appear to have been enabled.  Everything running well now?

#3031 Re: CE4 Publisher » Publish Error Message » 2014-08-03 23:17:20

Ben

I'm not exactly sure what it entails but having GoDaddy switch you over to the newer version of Cpanel should fix the problem. This has worked for several TTG customers.

You can find more conversations about this by searching these forums for GoDaddy.

#3033 Re: CE4 Publisher » Publish Error Message » 2014-08-03 21:29:12

Ben

Are you with GoDaddy? If so, this is a known issue with their older servers.

#3034 Re: CE4 Cart » Options at 'add to cart' that reduces the price as well as add? » 2014-08-03 21:26:09

Ben

Packages don't have options. You should be able to achieve this by configuring a new package with the strut mounts not added for the included items..

#3035 Re: CE4 Cart » pressing 'change' in the checkout is problematic » 2014-08-02 12:51:57

Ben

Hi both.  The change item page is not passing the pricing scheme correctly, so defaulting to the scheme named 'default'.  That explains why the wrong products are coming up, or no products if you don't have any in a 'default' pricing scheme.
I've found the error and put in a fix.  This will be available in our next maintenance release, which should be out soon.

#3036 Re: CE4 Cart » CART - Procced to Checkout » 2014-08-01 23:25:22

Ben

This will be fixed in the upcoming maintenance release of cart.  In the mean time, can you use the existing methods?  Also, if you are not using packages, remove the packages that are in the database.

#3037 Re: CE4 Cart » CART - Procced to Checkout » 2014-08-01 22:34:54

Ben

In ttg be admin set your email to use 'mail' and not 'smtp'

#3038 Re: CE4 Publisher » TTG BE » 2014-08-01 07:30:17

Ben

It looks like something is amiss with sessions on your server.  You can login but the backend immediately forgets that you have.
I don't think i can advise on how to fix this.  Instead it would be best if I could FTP to your server and try to work out what's wrong.
If that's fine with you, please provide FTP access details via PM or by using the Email link under my picture.

#3039 Re: CE4 Publisher » Breadcrumbs Problem » 2014-08-01 07:24:46

Ben

There is a file called gallery.xml that is generated by Pages to tell Publisher where to link to for the 'galleries'.  Since the location of 'galleries' is configurable, it's not something Publisher can work out on its own.
If you copy the file http://stuffbyjack.com/jacktest/galleries/gallery.xml to http://stuffbyjack.com/galleries/gallery.xml then that should fix it.

#3040 Re: CE4 Publisher » gallery error using publisher » 2014-07-31 15:11:51

Ben

Hi Martin, it works for me.  Which browser and platform are you using?  Can you try another browser to see whether that makes a difference?

PS, great action pics!

#3041 Re: CE4 Publisher » API Key?? » 2014-07-31 13:51:02

Ben

Broken config.php files have become quite a problem recently (thanks mostly to editors that added smart quotes around the items), so we've moved all details such as API Key into the admin page.  There's no need to edit any files for the Publisher or Cart.

OK.  give me a minute.

Btw, if you add a second package to the cart when you already have an incomplete first package in the cart, it throws an error and then actually mixes up the two packages, e.g., what was 2 of 6x4s in the first package will transfer to the second.

Hi Kris, this shouldn't be the case.  Are you adding two of the same package?  If so, it may be that you're mixing up which was the old and which is the new when viewing the cart.  Also, what error was thrown?
It would be great if you could provide a link and steps to follow so I can see this happen.

#3044 Re: CE4 Cart » invalid arguments in cart » 2014-07-31 09:24:19

Ben

Hi Kristen,  check that your shipping methods aren't marked as 'incomplete'.  It looks like the page is trying to list the available shipping methods, but that there aren't any to list.  After fixing the shipping methods, make sure to reset the customer's cart before testing again, by visiting this link: http://kristenwestlake.net/ttg-be/cart/?a=reset

Of course, that error you see is far from an ideal way for the cart to handle this issue.

#3045 Re: CE4 Cart » Multiple private accessed CE4 galleries for familes with CE4 cart » 2014-07-30 20:18:54

Ben

Hi Chiltern, this is possible with Publisher.  You would setup an album set for each family, with a unique password for the album set.  In the album set settings within the published album, check the 'Hide from Auto Index' checkbox.

For example, you may then have the following structure:

portraits/smith-family/gallery-one
portraits/smith-family/gallery-two
portraits/williams-family/gallery-one
portraits/williams-family/gallery-two

You would then provide the two groups with the link to the album set for their family:
portraits/smith-family
portraits/williams-family

Once logged in, they will be able to browse the galleries within the album set.  Should somebody visit portraits/ then they will not see links to either of the family album sets.

Technically, users will be using the same cart instance, however they will only be able to add items from galleries they have access to.  Pricing can be configured as-needed for each group.

#3046 Re: CE4 Publisher » How does "Mark to Republish" work » 2014-07-30 19:52:48

Ben

One of my wishes is that Lightroom would provide the developers with more information about why an image is automatically marked for republishing.  As it currently works, we can't tell whether an image is marked for republishing due to changes in the metadata, or due to changes that affect the physical appearance.  The former only requires metadata to be pushed, while the latter requires a new image rendition to be pushed.  It would be nice to be able to automate the type of publishing needed.

Hi Kris, in case you missed it, all text items can be changed via the Admin->Settings->Localisations->Manage Localisation function.

#3048 Re: CE4 Pages » Flip, Full-screen Problem » 2014-07-30 07:34:11

Ben

Hi Jack,  I have found a similar problem with Rod's site.  The underlying cause seems to be that there are multiple entries of pages-gallery in the database.  I'm trying to work out the underlying cause of this, and will let you know what I find.

#3049 Re: CE4 Publisher » error after todays update » 2014-07-29 23:57:32

hi Wolfram, your database is empty.  How many albums should you have at http://www.art4u.photography/galleries/?
Have you accidentally removed the directory or files under ttg-be/data or ttg-be/data/publisher?

#3050 Re: CE4 Publisher » error after todays update » 2014-07-29 22:44:21

Hi Wolfram, can you give us a link to the gallery?
