Perfect,
Thanks for the guidance Rod, It was exactly what I needed.
Much obliged
Richard
I'm probably missing something easy, but is there a way to see the date a Gallery/Album was created and uploaded?
Thanks
Richard
Just updating the post to confirm the fix in Cart 4.1.3 worked a treat.
Many thanks
Richard
Hi Rod,
Here is a link to a gallery
http://pretty-flash-photography.co.uk/g … 17/adults/
and here is a link to a page displaying the problem
http://pretty-flash-photography.co.uk/b … 4afea79b90
Thanks
Every thing works fine until after checkout, when the customer receives the page that servers the download links, then the page seems to lose responsiveness at mobile sizes, only showing part of the page, the rest of the page becomes visible if the phone is held in landscape orientation.
Thanks for your input Rod.
I can see where your going with that idea Rod, but I don't think it would work for me as I sell to different people from one album so the sales come in over the course of days and weeks sometimes even months.
Hi All,
I'm using Backlight+pages, Cart and publisher,
My current workflow is,
Use publisher to create a cart enabled album and upload low-res images to sell the high res file as digital downloads.
When sales orders come in I export the high res files out of Lightroom to my desktop then go to Backlight\cart\orders\manage\edit, and upload the files one by one, which then generates the update to order email. Great!!
My question is,
Am I doing things in the most efficient way? or am I missing an easier way to do it? e.g getting publisher to upload the high res file straight out of Lightroom.
I know I could upload all the high res file when publishing the album but with the amount of photos I upload I would soon use up my hosting allowance, and it would take considerably long to upload the albums.
For that reason I only want to upload the high res files that have been sold..
If I'm already doing thing in the most efficient manner then that's great, but I just wanted to put the question out there to check.
Thanks
Richard
Many thank's Ben,
I remember now, that caught me out last time.
I've had to do a clean BL re-start hence the need to do it again.
Much obliged
Richard
I'm haveing the same issue; I've double checked the publisher settings and everything is unchecked, (as it should be) I've checked the published gallery via FTP the photos for downloading folder and all the files are there..
Hi Daniel,
Thanks for your input.
Is there a reason that you opted to switch to the old forms? As the new form also has the embed option?
Like you say, it is a workable option with a bit of styling http://pretty-flash-photography.co.uk/? … googleform
But being none responsive is a major drawback
This is what I have at the minute http://pretty-flash-photography.co.uk/questionnaire 15 fields but I would like more.
My site is built entirely in/on backlight+pages add on
I have a questionnaire page at the minute which is a contact form with around 20 fields. It works pretty well, but every question requires a typed answer which I'll I feel is a bit much as a follow up to an inquiry.
Google forms is another option, but it would be better if I could keep the look and feel of my website.
Maybe a backlight add on, Backlight Forms?
Is it possible to add check buttons to the contact form? (maybe a feature request) That way I could use a contact form as a questionnaire where the user can just select a button from a list of options instead of having to type a response.
Kind regards
Richard
That's great Ben.
Many thanks for the quick response.
Hi All,
Off the back of the other post about custom gallery ordering. I decided to have a go at restructuring some of my galleries into a more logical order.
But ran straight into a problem.
I tried to make the change from within Backlight/Publisher/Top-level Galleries.
Gallery Title/ Galleries
I changed the option from whatever the default is, to order by time descending
This is the message I got
Something went wrong
SQLSATE[HY000]: General error:1 ambiguous column name created in PdoExtended.php on line 524
the front facing galleries seem to be working fine, but that is the message I receive when I try to change the options again.
I've left thing as the are for now for fear of making thing worse.
Any help
Thanks
Richard
I've been meaning to ask if anything was in the pipeline. Or if anybody knew of an easy to implement solution.
Update The hotfix worked
Thanks Ben
Hi Matt,
I've done as you suggested, but i'm afraid it hasn't worked
I just completed the update and have a problem with the album sets, I've probably missed something but can't see what
link to problem page http://www.pretty-flash-photography.co. … galleries/
Thank Richard
Hi Matt,
I've never had much to to with the .htaccess file or file permissions so they could be set wrong?
Rod, I did update the publisher but if the above setting are wrong I suppose that would explain why it never worked
Hi Rod,
You were right although when I tried to make the changes in the back-light setting area it made no difference, So I edited the
.htaccess file via ftp and that seems to solved the problem.
Many thanks for your help
To be to the point.
I created a sub domain called temp
I' uploaded the files the temp directory via ftp = ok
I logged in at http://www.pretty-flash-photography.co. … /backlight and set up my credentials = ok
however when I visit http://www.pretty-flash-photography.co.uk/temp/ it says No input file specified.
I've had a play with some of the setting but I'm getting nowhere.
All help appreciated
Oops
The motocross galleries only have a short shelf life, and it looks as though I have some cleaning-up to do..
On a plus note, I can report that the Google Analytic's search tracking is working and shows a great deal of helpful information
thanks again
Regards
Richard
Excellent post, I really appreciate you sharing it.
I must admit I have no idea about what the query parameter means, but as per your post I've entered a q.. and checked the strip query parameters box.
looking forward to seeing the results.
Many thanks
Richard
