#1 Re: Backlight 2 Support » BL2 Web Publisher - Drag and Drop? » 2018-09-12 16:34:33

Perhaps this is one of those issues that could be resolved with a (say 14 day) trial option of the software

#2 Re: Backlight 2 Support » BL2 Web Publisher - Drag and Drop? » 2018-09-12 02:00:53

Ok, that's a shame. I'm guessing ACDSee is much like Lightroom for drag and drop. I use colored labels for image selection when making a gallery so uploading from Windows explored won't work.
With album software such as JAlbum drag and drop works well and make it very easy to create a gallery.
Seems like this update isn't for me

Rod,
I'm a bit worried when you say "specifically from Windows Explorer", are you saying you can't select images in other software and drag them across. I use ACDSee Pro software for my organizing and basic editing and I want to be able to drag and drop from there.

Does the web based album publisher support drag and drop from other software your do you have to select files to upload from a menu?
It's not made very clear in the blog post.

#5 Backlight 2 Support » Discount for WP add on? » 2018-09-09 18:51:22

Looking back at my original Backlight order I see I ordered the WP addon, I've not received an email regarding a discount for this, only for the basic Backlight2 and another email saying the theater upgrade is free.
Is there a discount for the WP addon?

Matt has mentioned here in the forum that the next iteration will be able to be independent of Lightroom.
Plus, I imagine, other goodies.

that's good news, having to rely on Lightroom is one of the biggest drawback of Backlight at the moment as I don't actually use Lightroom for any other purpose.

I notice there has been no entries in the blog for several months, does this mean development of Backlight has stopped or just reached its natural conclusion.

#8 Re: Backlight Support » Fotomoto problem » 2017-12-22 20:00:48

Ahh, Ok, thanks. I did wonder if I had to do anything else.
As you say, working Ok now
Thanks for your help

Sorry, tried both options, neither worked. (I cleared the browser cache but that made no difference)
I have left the script.php file with the 2nd option for now
Just for reference I'm using Chrome browser on Win 8.1

I have fotomoto enabled in some of my galleries, according to this support page http://backlight.theturninggate.net/doc … to_support  a user should be able to click on the basket on the thumbnails to make a purchase. On my site the basket appears on the thumbnails but clicking on it doesn't do anything. The basket on the large image works correctly.
Any Suggestions?

#12 Re: Backlight Support » Masonry Thumbnails - images not showing » 2017-12-20 07:14:06

Ok Rod, I'll have a look at it in the morning and see what I can do.
Thanks

Edit, just had a quick look and cleared the template cache and seems to have done the trick. Also looks good on my phone.

Thanks for your help, much appreciated

Just tried a test page and that works Ok, the same as using the home link above.
Coming from a different direction how could I redirect the address ipgphotography.uk to ..../galleries so that anyone clicking on an outside line would go straight to my galleries page.

For my home page I'm using a album set template just for my home page, on a desktop computer if I use the Masonry thumbnail grid the images don't appear, just an empty frame. If I switch to iconic thumbnails the images appear ok. However if I view the the home page on a mobile device the thumbnails don't appear which ever style I use.
This problem only occurs on the first visit to the site from an outside link ( www.ipgphotography.uk ) if, within the site, I click on the Home link everything works ok even on a mobile
What am I doing wrong?

As I write this I'm leaving it set on Masonry until (hopefully) I get an answer smile

#16 Backlight Support » Adjusting font size in a pangolin descriptive gallery » 2017-12-09 01:51:42

Probably missing something obvious, I'm in the process of redesigning my web site using the pangolin galleries and I want to use a descriptive thumbnail gallery as my home page, how do I increase the font size for the heading and description of each gallery - seems to be rather small here

#17 Backlight Support » Next Page cards » 2017-12-02 22:47:16

The addition of next page cards is certainly welcome however I don't understand why a visitor has to be or needs to be informed they are moving from one page to another.
Also on your demonstration gallery the next page card only seems to work going forward, I would imagine a visitor would want to travel both back and forward possibly comparing images - I haven't tried it on my own gallery, perhaps this was just missed out on your demo gallery
Is there any reason why there can't be a seamless transition between pages within one gallery when travelling either way.

I know everyone **Should** update every time a new release come out but I'm sure I'm not the only one who doesn't. I'm upgrading from V1.2.1 to 1.2.5 (Backlight, Pages, Theater and Wordpress) and I haven't a clue which files to replace. The instructions in the blog only refer to upgrading from the last version.
As I don't want to start again I'm going to follow those instructions and hope for the best but a bit more info would be helpful, even a tag cloud on the blog so that "updates" could be selected and grouped for easy reading would be useful.

I don't have theater at the moment but could i use it to create a slideshow on the home page. If that's not possible could I create a  slideshow on a new gallery page and use that as a home page

Thanks,

#22 Re: Backlight Support » Update info required from suspect email » 2016-10-15 22:57:47

Thanks Lofty and Matthew for your replies, at least I know know the email is genuine.
Matthew, I find the term Hi MR very disrespectful, I don't know if Send Owl is a free service or if you have to pay for it, but for you to allow your customers to be addressed in such a way doesn't do much for your company name or reputation. I have never come across such a thing from other companies however large or small and I certainly wouldn't dream of addressing any customer of mine in such a way.

I only purchased and downloaded Backlight+pages yesterday and was rather surprised to see (in my spam box) an email stating there has been an upgrade issued.
The email has me worried that it may not be genuine 1) it just says "Hi Mr" not actually stating my name, 2) it gives no details of the changes, it just says contact the merchant - not even naming TTG, and finally it wasn't sent by TTG but somebody/something called SendOwl.
Needless to say I haven't clicked on any of the links but would be grateful if someone from TTG could confirm its genuine and if so, what are the changes in the upgrade since yesterday

At the moment image export size is set to 1557 by 1896 px but I'm not getting anything like that on my display
