#1 Re: CE4 Publisher » Can I move ttg-be to a new home? » 2015-02-27 01:39:34

Thanks Rod, that sounds promising. When I get to this stage I will give it a go. As you said it won't hurt trying.

I need to revamp my website. For this I will create a completely new site on a different space on my host. Once it's working I will point my domain name to the new site. The question is: can I just make a one-to-one copy of the ttg-be folder and obviously the gallery folder with the images from the old site to the new one?? I will keep the directory structure for the gallery the same.
I use Publisher CE4 to create my galleries.

Thanks for your help.

Thanks Rod, nothing I can do I guess but again using the detour with the editor sad

Adding text to the 'Page Copy (md)' text box is nearly impossible as pressing Return to enter a new line will close the dialogue box. I've tried Shift-Return and CTRL-Return but in both cases it will close the box. How do you actually enter text with new lines into this box without closing it.

This problem has been there for quite a while but since the new introduction of the very useful 'Place Copy Placement' feature it's even more annoying.

At the moment I have to edit the text in a separate editor and paste it in.

I'm sure there is a way - just couldn't figure it out.

Nooooo I didn't remove the indicated lines above and below the custom css section in the phplugins.php file.
I did it now and got a nice ugly red background and your fix for the button colour works as well.......
Thanks Rod

Okay, now understood. I have followed the guide and set it all up. I have uploaded the updated templates and even re-published the albums. However, it's not working - the test entry in the custom.css file has no effect (red page background). Have I perhaps missed something else?

Hi Rod, I've read all I could find about the phpplugins and it has been enabled in the CRG CE4 and Cart CE4 engine but there is no phpplugin-samples anywhere on my server. I only use Publisher, CRG and Cart CE4 for my galleries. Do I need Pages or so to get this feature?

If you change the colour for  'Status Bar Text: current/hover' in LR the 'current' style is not adjusted and stays the default colour blue. The hover style is okay.
Only noticed it because my status bar colour is a dark turquoise and the blue is virtually not visible.

I fully appreciate all the work you have done over the past few years. I have used TTG from the early beginnings and I'm okay paying for occasional upgrades (within reason). Problem is the frequency of upgrades. My websites are using now 3 or 4 different versions of CRG, Cart, Publisher and Galleries and it has become a bit of a mess. There are cart folders in the root, in the gallery folder, in the ttg-be folder and all have to be maintained for my clients to be able to access galleries I have created over the last few years. Let alone the amount of TTG plugins which have to stay functional within LR.

It is necessary to occasionally break with backwards compatibility and CE4 is certainly much better and more convenient once it's up and running. I've spent the whole day implementing CRG CE4 (thanks to Rod for giving advise).

My wish is that CE4 will stay with us for the longer future. Obviously incremental improvements and bug fixes are to be expected (and it's okay to pay for those).

This is in no way a rant - it's just a plea ;-)

Cheers

#10 Re: CE4 Client Response Gallery » Email not working » 2015-01-23 07:22:09

Email problem solved. I've contacted my website host and they changed/added a setting on their side and SMTP email works fine now.

I'm nearly there with the new CE4 CRG. But the email submission is not working for me. I have selected images in my CE4 CRG test gallery and filled out the submit form. After sending the selection I get an okay window. However, I'm not receiving any emails.
I'm successfully using CE4 Cart on my site so I would assume that my TTG-BE is setup correctly.

Can anyone please try to submit a selection to see if it is working correctly.

Cheers

#12 Re: CE4 Client Response Gallery » Large images in slideshow view too big » 2015-01-22 21:56:21

Thanks Ben, that was the problem. Too many options in too many different places ;-)

#13 Re: CE4 Client Response Gallery » Large images in slideshow view too big » 2015-01-22 21:12:39

Thanks taog,

This is how I changed the sizes in CE3. In the meantime I figured out the problem. I did make those changes and republished the album. However, the images in the 'photo' folder on the server did not update! I then deleted the images manually on the server but attempts to republish the album didn't update the photo folder either. I had to delete the whole album (through LR) and create a new album. This time the photo folder has been filled again with the smaller images as required.

That sounds like a bug to me.

Best wishes
Stephane

I just can't seem to find the option to define the size of the large images in slideshow view. The size is always 1024px which is way too big for my clients proofing galleries. That's big enough to print 4x6 so there is no need to purchase images! I don't like covering the image with a watermark as it's not pleasant to look at.

How can I change the image size?

Thank you.

#15 Re: CE4 Client Response Gallery » 'Album Set' folders on server » 2015-01-22 19:53:52

Thank you Rod, that has made things clearer. The album is now accessible as usual. I will definitely explore the password options - sounds useful to me.

Correction: The newly created album is in the album set folder - I think Filezilla hasn't managed to update the folder view in the first place.

However, typing in the URL to the album will still redirect me to a login screen. By the way, I have disabled the use of password in the album settings. The frame with the login request comes actually from my CRG template.

#17 Re: CE4 Client Response Gallery » 'Album Set' folders on server » 2015-01-22 02:17:56

Thanks Rod for your reply. I forgot to mention that I use CE4 Publisher.

I'm confused about the need of Autoindex. For the last year I have used only CE3 Publisher together with CE3 CRG. There was no need for Autoindex. I publish my galleries through Publisher in LR and use a little php script on my website for clients to access their gallery. That has worked perfectly well in the past.

Now, the problem is actually more complicated. I have just created a new 'Album Set' inside my gallery folder using Publisher CE4. No problem here, the folder has been created on my server in the correct location. I have then created a CE4 CRG album inside this  album set with a few images and published it. In the top status bar in LR next to the Publish button I can see the correct path for the album. I have then published the album which seemed to work fine. After publishing it the browser opened with the correct link but automatically redirected to http://mysite/ttg-be/crg/?a=login asking for an email and password???

But the most worrying thing is that there is actually no album on my server - my album set folder is empty!!!

Where did LR upload the album to? As I said, the 'Album Set' folder has been created but it's empty.

I really need help with this.

Thank you.

I have successfully installed CE4 CRG. My question is: can I use the same gallery 'Album Set' folders on my server I'm using for the CE3 galleries or do I need to create new 'Album Set' folders for the CE4 galleries?
There are some files inside the 'album set' folders (gallery.xml, autoindex.xml) and I wonder if that will cause a problem.
Thank you
