Thanks for the quick reply Ben. I'm probably going to switch back to v2 in that case. Realistically, I'm not going to regularly check Backlight for legitimate messages classified as spam. Once everything is setup, I'd like it to be set and forget. I'd rather have the occasional spam message slip through than the occasional legitimate message get caught. Or with using v2, have my users be slightly inconvenienced rather that I miss their messages entirely.
I think it's entirely likely that some messages take longer than two minutes to type out, and I don't want to miss those.
Thanks,
Kyle
Hi all,
I swapped my contact form over to reCAPTCHA V3 and am having some issues with it. When I test it, everything seems to be working, and I get notes similar to this:
spam check passed with reCAPTCHA score: 0.9, ip=xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx
But I have a legitimate contact that went to spam with these notes:
spam check failed with reCAPTCHA response: { "success": false, "error-codes": [ "timeout-or-duplicate" ] }, ip=xxxx:xxxx:xxxx:xxxx:xxxx:xxxx:xxxx:xxxx
And all the spam contacts have notes like this:
g-recaptcha-response was empty, ip=xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx
Thanks,
Kyle
Ah, I understand now. I wasn't thinking about the previews or the fact that it would read as a single link shared every time.
I was hoping there might be a simple custom css trick I could use to scale on both axes. Given it would require an overhaul, maybe something to keep in mind for the future, but I understand it's not a priority.
Thanks for helping me out, and great job on Backlight 3!
Is there a way to also scale on the y-axis? I'd like for the entire image to be visible without scrolling.
And as long as you include the '#gallery-1' part in the link, it opens up the gallery to that image. That's why I thought this could be an option.
Awesome, thanks!
Really the problem I am trying to solve is that when anyone uses one of the social links, the resultant single image page doesn't scale the image to the device.
Hi all,
Is there a way to disable single image pages site-wide? We can link directly to an image in the gallery (ex. https://kylelucy.com/galleries/03-seascapes/#gallery-1), and while I realize that link could change depending on the images in the gallery, I prefer it to the single image pages.
The main reason is that the single image pages don't scale to the device they are used on in the height dimension, so users are left scrolling to see the full photo. I'd rather link to the image in the gallery which scales properly.
Part of disabling single image pages would involve changing the social media sharing icons to use the gallery link rather than the permalink.
Thanks,
Kyle
Hi all,
It looks like the trick from this post (http://community.theturninggate.net/vie … p?id=11401) still works for enabling random datasort in Backlight 3, but it has a few drawbacks. First, it doesn't survive updates, so with each update you have to go back and manually edit the file. And second, it is global; you can't apply it per template.
Could this be added to the template designer where we have options for autoplay, transition speed and the like?
Thanks,
Kyle
There is a section for sqlite3, though there isn't much info under it. It looks like the php.ini is loaded from a path I don't have access to. I believe the php.ini file I was looking at is only used to generate the user.ini, so it only has a few options that I've set.
Disabling it there seems to have fixed the issue. Is it loaded by Backlight separately? It was working fine like that with Backlight v2.
Ben,
I do have access to my php.ini, but it doesn't have that line in it. sqlite3 is enabled in my PHP extension selection however.
You can see the error live at kylelucy.com. There is a large red error bar at the bottom of my homepage, and the galleries link just leads to an error page.
I updated from Backlight 2. I purchased the upgrade, logged into Backlight, navigated to Admin > Backlight Modules, and clicked 'Update All' under 'Backlight'
Some pages of my site work fine, but the home page with a slideshow are broken, and the main galleries page doesn't load at all.
I just update and get this error in both Backlight and on my site:
Something went wrong
Unexpected error: Module 'sqlite3' already loaded in Unknown on line 0
Hello,
I have maps enabled in my albums, and everything is working fine. When I open the same images from search, however, there is no maps link available. Is there a way to enable maps from search for photos with GPS coordinates?
Thanks,
Kyle
Ben, you were correct. 'fileinfo' was not enabled. I had my host enable it and downloads are working now. Thanks!
Is this an option that could be added to the Galleria frontend? If we modify the file, it will be overwritten every update. It looks like the transition speed was added in the last update.
Got it, thank Rod. I didn't know to clear the template cache; it's working now.
Oliver,
Do you mind sharing how you got this working? I'm trying to do the same thing.
Thanks,
Kyle
Rod - I republished the images, but get the same result. Here is an example album: https://new.kylelucy.com/galleries/recent/
Ben - fileinfo is listed in the 'View PHP Info' page, but not the 'List PHP modules' page.
Thanks,
Kyle
Hello,
I have my download source set to 'Use photos rendition'. When I try to download the file, I get the following error:
Something went wrong
Unexpected error: Call to undefined function mime_content_type() in GalleryController.php on line 538
I've tried from multiple browsers (Chrome, Edge), multiple devices (Windows, Android), I've tried reinstalling the 'pangolin-album' module and clearing cache/cookies, but have not been able to get it working.
Any suggestions?
Thanks,
Kyle
Also, are you hosting with GoDaddy? There is a known issue with them that presents like this; see these topics:

Ben,
I just sent the email. Let me know what you find.
Thanks,
Kyle
It's processed the same as all my other Photoshop edits, which all work fine. It has no alpha channels and only the one layer; all I did in Photoshop was some spot healing and content aware fills.
Ben,
Do you need FTP or TTG-BE access? I can send whatever you need in a PM.
