Sorry haven't checked in for a while.
Thanks for your replies.
The Publisher > Albums > Base Settings route is much better......appreciate the tip.
Hello Ben
I've upgraded to Backlight3 and this problem still persists.
My thumbnails list gets ever longer and searching it takes ever longer!
Are we near any nearer a solution to this, what looks to the layman, simple sort problem?
Thanks.
I don't buy that.
In my Galleria album template I have exactly the same 'X' in arrow background and black arrow foreground.....and it works.....the background is clear and the arrow is black. See below:
https://www.piktour.uk/galleries/churches/charlestown/
The page template colors are exactly the same as well so I don't see how it can be pulling anything different from the default colors in there.
It looks to me like Justified albums work totally differently to Galleria.....the icons look different, they are supposed to be black but they're not really.....more dark grey....they actually turn black when you hover. See below:
https://www.piktour.uk/galleries/travel … #gallery-3
Although it's annoying I'm actually getting used to it now so will probably leave it like it is and live with it.
Hello Rod
I take it you mean Backlight Publisher on Lightroom.
In there all I see is the latest photos that have been uploaded not the ones that weren't deleted previously.
Hello
I seem to have a bunch of duplicate images in my albums now.
I have been deleting the Photos in Lightroom, I tick the box 'Remove from Service' when it tells me they are on TTG, but they are not deleted.
I now have 2 sometimes 3 copies of the same image in my albums.
Why do they not get deleted and how do I get rid of them now?
Thanks
In the Album Template: Album-Justified-1 Column
I have: Photo Presentation > Slideshow > Arrows Background-color set as 'X'
_____
In the Page Template: Page-Justified-1 Column
I have: Color > Background set to White
_____
I am struggling to understand your comment:
"No, that means it's using one of the default colors from the page template's Colors section."
Which default color?
The only one that made sense was the one I changed above: Color > Background
Now I'm really confused!
In the page template Page - Justified - 1 Column > Color > Background is set to White
So if what you say is correct the Arrows background should be White......but it's Black with Opacity.
Just to confirm:
An 'X' in Arrows Background should mean the Background is Clear....correct?
After that long wait it took the change to Red background but now I've change it to Clear it doesn't want to know.....it's just reset to 35% Opacity Black.
I've just gone back in after doing some other stuff and the background has updated for no apparent reason.
So I changed them again and they are stuck as before!
Browser & Template cache cleared to no avail.....it's almost like they need a lot of time to change.
Hello
Ref my album: Album-Justified-1 Column
Photo Presentation > Slideshow > Arrows Background-color
Any change to this is ineffective.....it seems to be stuck on something like 35% Opacity Black. All other changes made in this album seem to get applied except this one.
It's used in this album:
https://www.piktour.uk/galleries/churches/all-churches/
How do I get it to work?
Useful article.....thanks Rod.
I've bought your Oregon pal's book on CSS that you recommended as well.....thanks for the tip on that.
I think that album must be corrupted.
I've cloned another one from my 2 column version that worked OK and it seems to be back to normal now.
I took Galleria out of this set for a while, I thought I could do without it, but there are some smaller sets that I think I need it on.
Can you take another look to see if you can spot what's going on please.
1) As you decrease the browser page width.....viewing on an iPhone is even worse.....the Title slides up the image and splits it in two. The image height on iPhone is extremely long so is permanently split.
2) On desktop the images seem to sit at the bottom of the frame.....more noticeable with Landscape images.....and Portrait images are being cropped at the bottom.
Thanks.
Perfect....thanks Rod.
I'm just learning CSS so how would I know the name of the component that I had to change was .fancybox-slide img?
I looked in the source for that page and there is no mention of .fancybox-slide img
There is .fancybox-slide--image or .fancybox-image but not .fancybox-slide img
Is there somewhere else I should be looking?
Hello
I've just created a Justified Album below:
https://www.piktour.uk/galleries/churches/altarnun/
When you open a photo individually and also in full screen the bottom of the photo is slightly cropped which clips my watermark on the images.
What setting have I missed to stop that happening?
Thanks.
It's a mess at the moment.
I'm now resigned to deleting all those Albums and recreating them again.
I've done the Altarnun one and it's fine now.....well nearly.....there's another slight issue which I'll raise another post for.
Thanks.
I am using Smart Albums.....you don't get that option in those.
Hello Rod
1) Yes all I did was change Template.
2) No virtual copies created in Lightroom, no _v1 after my copies here.
3) Where is the Create Virtual Copies checkbox anyway, I can't even find it?
4) I only have one set of photo's in Backlight Publisher so not sure how I can delete them from there.
Hello
I've changed the Album type for all my Church albums, see the one for Altarnun below:
https://www.piktour.uk/galleries/churches/altarnun/
They were using Galleria and I've changed to Justified.....but now the album is showing BOTH sets! The ones with the Titles are from the Justified set and the others are the older Galleria ones.
I've cleared Browser cache & Template cache and I've re-uploaded all the photo's but they will not show properly.
What have I missed?
I changed it from 'Managed by Lightroom' to 'Order by Capture Time'......which is the order I wanted.....and it's fixed.
Capture Time was the order it was set to in Lightroom so not sure why Backlight was ignoring it in the first place.
Whatever works I guess.
Sorry, link below:

Yes tried clearing browser & template cache.
Hello
I have some very strange behaviour in the Slideshow element of my 'Album-Galleria-1 Column' album.
As you decrease the browser page width.....viewing on an iPhone is even worse.....the Title slides up the image and splits it in two. The image height on iPhone is extremely long so is permanently split.
On desktop the images seem to sit at the bottom of the frame.....more noticeable with Landscape images.....and Portrait images are being cropped at the bottom.
I have tried every setting imaginable in the Photo Presentation section but cannot cure it.
Any ideas what is setting this off?
Thanks
I had forgotten about Clear Template Cache again.....but after clearing it there is still no difference.
Yes Photo Order is set to be Managed by Lightroom.
Hello
My album template 'Album-Justified-1 Column' is not following the running order set in Lightroom as it should.
I have re-uploaded the photos several times, cleared cache & cookies etc but the setting is still ignored.
The album is used in this set:
https://www.piktour.uk/galleries/travel … e-atacama/
The running order it is stuck in was the original setting until I changed it in Lightroom but Backlight seems to be ignoring the updated order.
The photo 'Never Stop Exploring' should be appearing last.
Any ideas?
Thanks
