Charlie, thanks for the suggestion about letsencrypt. This was quite useful.
And Rod thanks for checking cursor placement on my admin login page (under Chrome). I'm embarrassed to say that I should have tried rebooting my system before putting that issue to the forum. Rebooting solved it.
Walter
I am using Backlight + Pages 123 Release 3, installed on Bluehost. I am having two problems with my Backlight admin login page.
** First problem: Firefox and Chrome both say that the connection to My Admin login page is not secure. Apparently my username and password are not being encrypted as they are sent. Not sure how to fix this.
** Second problem. When viewing my the Admin login page in Chrome (Version 63.0.3239.108, 64-bit), it is quite difficult to position the cursor so that it switches from a "pointing hand" cursor to a "vertical line" cursor, so that I can enter the username and password. Also, once I enter the username and password, I can submit them successfully only by using the Enter key. The login button itself won't log me in. (This second set of issues occurs only in Chrome, not in Firefox.)
I tried to resolve the issues by doing a clean install of Backlight + Pages, but that didn't fix the problems. For now, I have left username and password at their defaults -- admin and ttg8888 -- in case anyone needs to have a look at the site. The admin page is at wedelberg.net/photos/backlight.
I'm sure I am overlooking something. I tried searching for a solution in the forum, but no luck so far. Thanks in advance for any help anyone can provide.

Thanks so much for taking a look at it. Wasn't sure if I was doing something wrong. It's a very minor issue, but glad to hear it's being addressed in the 1.0.1 version.
On another topic, thank you for the generous offer to recent purchasers of CE4, to apply the purchase price against Backlight. I had purchased CE4 only a few weeks before Backlight's release, so I really appreciate this. Backlight is terrific.
Sure. It's just a test site, where I am trying out various things: wedelberg.net/photos. The font-awesome code is working for me at wedelberg.net/photos/galleries/spain-2015. Not working at wedelberg.net/photos/view-instructions.
Let me know if you need guest password to have a look around.
Walter
Font Awesome works fine when the appropriate code is inserted into Page Copy fields in templates, such as templates for albums and album sets. But I haven't been able to get the same code (copied and pasted) to work when inserted into the Page Copy fields in pages, such as the Home or Galleries pages. Not sure what is causing this.
Walter
Thanks, Rod! That worked of course. By the way your backlight testing site really helpful; thanks for making that available. I'll be following that.
Walter
I have set up a test site using Backlight + Pages. It's all working fine, but I'm confused about one thing. I can control the copy on the Home page using the copy fields in Backlight>Designer>Pages>Home>Design. But I don't yet see how to control the copy on the Galleries page, the page to which my albums and album sets are published. (No Galleries page appears in the default list of pages.)
As an alternative approach, I tried creating a separate Albums page. I can control its copy using the copy fields for that page, but I don't yet see how to get my published albums and album sets to appear on that page.
Obviously there is a solution, but after several hours on this I'm still stuck. Thanks in for any help anyone can provide.

Thanks, Matt, for taking the time to explain all of that. I can see now that Highslide doesn't make a lot of sense in the era of touch screens and mobile devices. I didn't realize that when I posted the question. I can see that Photoswipe is the far more elegant solution to that whole sete of issues. I can certainly live with its link to social media.
Walter
Sorry, I retract my question. Just realized that Highslide doesn't resize the image as the browser window size changes. Photoswipe does. That is an overriding consideration, so I can see why Highslide wasn't included in Backlight.
Walter
Wow, Backlight is terrific. I had been using the CE4 Web Publishing Bundle and CE4 Stage, and upgraded yesterday to Backlight. To me it was well worth the cost. Backlight is vastly easier than CE4 to install, but for me the real payoff is the remarkable improvement in convenience and speed. The difference in user experience is night and day. Thank you!
I do have one question. CE4 Gallery offered Highslide Slideshow as an option for Large Image Presentation. Currently Backlight offers Photoswipe and Single Image Presentation. Are there plans to add Highslide Slideshow as an additional option in Backlight?
I prefer Highslide for two reasons. The main one is that at least on my websites, Highslide displays the same image much larger than does Photoswipe, even when I toggle Photoswipe’s Fullscreen control. (I hope I’m not overlooking one of the controls in Backlight that would make Photoswipe display a larger image.) A second reason is that Highslide has no “Share” link, and I like it that way. I’d prefer that my website be free of links to social media.
Again, thanks for all the work you put into developing Backlight. After using it, I can see why TTG needed to get out from under the constraints imposed by Lightroom’s Web module.
